    Hi,

A massively inspiring thread. Can you add me to the list please? Our 1% to get rid of everything is £140. I have just got a load of stuff up onto Ebay and am working on more!
Thanks everyone for helping to keep me focussed.

Loving your thread OP, have ploughed my way through it and would like to join up. Mine is a savings target rather than to pay off a debt and I don't know the actual amount yet so can't state a %age but will know by Friday.

I am looking to get my teeth fixed which is likely to cost between £6K to £20K and I have a grand total of nowt to get me started.

so far I have a few items for ebay with pics taken and the text on a work document ready to paste into ebay at the next free listing weekend. for anyone who struggles to sit for a day putting stuff on ebay this is a great way to do it as it only takes minutes when the free listing day comes around.

I will look out some books tomorrow and check out zapper and fatbrain (although I am loathe to throw out textbooks, god knows why when I don't use them but have weird attachment to the books that have seen me through multiple uni hell).

I was looking into speculating to accumulate and trying to bet on myself to lose weight but am not having much luck with that one. Bookies don't seem keen to take this on. Grrrr

I am also thinking about setting up a tongue in cheek begging page to get people to donate a pound to help my poor teeth but just giving and virgin seem to require the money to go to a charity. !!!!!!, I am a charity case lol. Any suggestions to get round this?

Some fab ideas on here and if anyone has any advice to me on any ways to raise money for a smile makeover I would love to hear them.

  • My bank very kindly reminded me this week that 'It's been a while' since I graduated and I'm going to lose my £1000 interest-free overdraft come September *sob*

    So, my 1% is £10.

I'm on the way to my first 1% on Valued Opinions, and am planning to do a car boot sale with my mum if it ever gets sunny!

Morning everyone! In a much chirper mood this morning as I've woken with alot less pelvic pain by managing to sleep on my left side :) this pregnancy is killing my body so really pleased to have less pain this morning, considering I still have 16 weeks left, and I've been in agony for 10 weeks already it's nice for a let up :)

Planning on doing a food shop online today using quidco. I've got a tesco account but I have a code for asda £10 off a £50 shop so figured I would use that instead, going to do it when smallest is asleep. Going to try and tidy up today so probably won't get much eBay listing done but we will see, eldest has swimming this afternoon, last one til September so good news is I've not got that to pay for in August :)

Off to check eBay to see if I have any more bids...

Paid another 1% to my Virgin over the weekend which has now cleared. And only need another £30 for my next %. So practically paid 4% in one week! (Tues-Tues) which would definitely not have happened without this thread!

1/2 of my items on eBay sold (£3.50!), the other didn't and is a DVD so I will be trying that on music magpie instead.

And after a week, my advert on gumtree to give guitar lessons has finally gone live. So far I've had a text from "an old friend wanting NSA fun" (lol!) and a couple of emails asking if I'm looking for singles in my area....... I'm hoping that at some point the spam stops and the clients start phoning!

Big HELLO to the newest folks on the thread

mayforher - Congrats on your impending arrival! :TThat's a great target to have.

Welsh Girl Slim - Great tip with notonthehighstreet! Maybe you could pre-book hol activities / Florida theme parks. I know they can be drastically cheaper if you shop around! :)

Hanliam - welcome to the thread, glad you like it! Let us know how you get on with your ebay mountain :p

Ali-t - I've added you onto the list, let me know when you're settled on a target. Perhaps get a few ideas of prices - I know some places are crazy expensive for dentistry work.

Gracesophia - Ahh good old 'Graduate Overdraft' this is a great time to blitz it before the mega charges start!

Hi Little Miss and the rest of Team 1% :).

I've been reading for a while and would like to join please. My whole debt is a bit too large, so I've chosen a selection of my smaller and more important debts and they add up to £6,066.

So my 1% is £60.66 please.

    Thank you :D

As long as you don't say we're "going for gold" then you should be ok ;-)

I managed to pay off my student overdraft within 6 months... I still have 2 years to go before it is taken away. I know people talk about stoozing but I'm a bit worried about that! Shall I stick it in high savings?? Might get me another 1%?
