  • I seem to be spending my 1% (£47) at the moment, so tonight I am going look at my bank a/c, not get stressed and calmly work out how much I got left for month!

    Eh xx

Hi Little Miss Uni-Debt, great thread idea, can I join you?

    My 1% is £40.00.

Erm, thing is I cancelled as many subscriptions and memberships as I could this morning, do they count as % if they are direct debit's that will no longer be going out?

    Really motivational thread.
Debt free (finally) and saving a deposit for my first home.

@ruby - welcome to the 1% club!! If you take what your direct debits were and put that money away then it will count towards your %s. But if you are just letting it go into the general population of money then it won't count.

  • Emzilla & Ruby789 - You've been added!

Emzilla - Yes, it's good to start with a manageable goal. Plus when you hit your goal the important debts will have been blitzed!

Hey Ruby - Yes, you can count your previous DD's towards your 1% as long as get to put the cash saved towards your goal.

bpsp10 - Great deal on the washer! :T

    @KitchenBunny - I like that idea, so 10p is 1% of your 1% :D

@Liz-paul - It's good that you're setting up your childmindling through the proper channels. You may miss out a little before you start but when you're registered you can rest easy.

@Lesgeo - At this rate you'll get all of your 1%'s from ebay! :p You're gona make a small fortune!

Thanks for adding me to the list. I'm looking forward to getting stuck in :j. I probably won't hit my first 1% till September. My dd starts her summer holidays next Tuesday so I usually scrape through August money wise, because my work dries up then. I've set up a money box and any extra pennies will go into that towards my 1%. I've also a ton of stuff to ebay so hopefully I'll get a start :o x

Thanks little miss - I know I'm best off doing it the right way, it's just hard to stay motivated! I need to remember that in the grand scheme of things we hvae always managed on 1 salary so a few more weeks/months isn't really going to hurt us....
Well done everyone else on your 1%'s, I feel like I'm slackin now :p

Another 1% in the ISA today :) Brings me up to 11% so I'm pretty chuffed :) That was from a savings account my mum opened for me when I was a baby, plus I cleared the pennies left in my bank accounts ready for a fresh balance sheet on payday, on Friday :)

The plan is then to put £250 in the ISA straight away from my wages, and also all of the overtime money I should be getting- round about £80. Can't wait for Friday :D

Liz- I always feel like I'm slacking! I was sitting at work trying to think of extra ways to earn- I'm pretty good at saving, but not so much earning!

Ordered ASDA but my quidco isnt showing up yet, does it take a while?

Well i havent done amazing today as we ended up getting a subway at lunch, DH owed a friend for lunch so i tagged along :o Was delicious but i was shocked at the price!! I also spent £15 on nursing bras but Mamas and papas were doing 3 for £15 with free postage. There bras were £18-25 for one so saved £45 on those and they will come in handy :D So thats more an investment. :D

Got all but 1 of my ebay sales posted today. Got a few watchers on things but the only thing i have a bid on is that headlesss razor handle :rotfl:

Making a list tomorrow of all the things i need for baby still (think its mainly clothing and the car!) and also going to make a list of all known expenses until November that we need to budget for, i already have an expensive first week in august and the whole of september. Off the top of my head i have: 2 baby showers, a 60th wedding anniversary, 15 birthdays!, our wedding anniversary, stag do, hen do, babys arrival and a wedding!

    Hi
Could I join please? I've been watching this thread for a few weeks now and its really motivated me to try harder to pay off what I can. I am concentrating on my very and barclay card which amounts to £2000, so my 1% is £20.

I've already paid 5% from my Very account, so its a start. Its all on buy now pay later so I need to get it cleared before they add the interest!
