  • teaandcakeaddict. really pleased for you it will be a big help to your family

in one month we have reduced our overdraft by £650 so pleased with this. February will not be quite as easy as I have dd birthday and half term also lots of birthdays beginning of March.

but I am very determined to pay all this debt back so we are cutting back on food, making everything stretch further. this will save quite a bit for us. have collected lots of bits to sell on eBay and will shop around and be very careful with every penny I have to spend.
I WILL NOT use any of that money i have repaid.

    roll on February

  • Hi Everyone

    It's finally February!!!

I'm so glad to be in a new month, I felt like January was completely jinxed for us this year!

So money withdrawn from the bank accounts, I just need to withdraw a little more as we can only withdraw £250 a day from the cash machine and that will be petrol, spends, Christmas pot and food money for the month. All other money is then going to be transferred to bills and the remainder into the savings, once the month is over, anything in the savings will go to %'s, I would transfer them sooner but i'd worry about money all month I case something should happen like last! I'm going to raid the spare bedroom tomorrow and sort out some bits and pieces for eBay I'm a determined little lady this month!

    Happy %ing all x x x x x

So I only managed to pay off 2% of my chosen debt last month. Although if you include other debts as well I paid off around £500 after interest.

Is it me or did January go on FOREVER! I have higher hopes this month as its a shorter month and have just done a bargain food shop at Aldi. Lots of listings finishing this weekend on ebay so keeping my fingers crossed for some sales. Have listed 41 items and currently only bids on 3 of them but hopefully some last minute sales there.

I have just paid off another 2% off of the debt with this months wages and will see what is left to go towards it at the end of the month.

I'm in need of some more money making ideas though if anybody has any!

LMUD, this thread is your baby so it's up to you - but how about we copy and paste important first couple of posts into a new thread, with a link to this thread so it can be accessed and move back again???

  • Popping back in to list my 7th way to make £100:

    Homebrew

I've been making my own cider & wine for a few years now, and I'm going to start counting it as £ saved.

I'll spare you the boring calculations, but I reckon that I save 42p per 250ml glass of cider, £2.68 per bottle of white wine and £2.90 per bottle of red wine.

    Savings starting from around mid-December:
    15 bottles white wine (elderflower) x £2.68 = £40.20
    25 glasses of cider @42p = £10.50
    TOTAL: £50.70.

  • Updates!

    1. Surveys: Received my cheque from GlobalTestMarket, $60 translated into £37.13. Total from surveys is now £84.22. Started doing surveys from Ipsos as they come highly rated from the MSE team.

    2. Online panels. No more £, but have joined the Health Hub forum, so hopefully will get some invites soon.

    3. GPT: Good news: a few more £5 Amazon credits received from Swagbucks. More good news: Received £5 voucher from SpudShillings. Bad news: have given up on SnapDollars (where I had accumulated about $14), as they have raised their cashout from $15 to $30, and they apparently don't offer Paypal anymore: cheques in US dollars only, which are expensive to cash over here, and often don't arrive anyway.

    4. Amazon selling: Nothing to report. Must get off lazy butt and start listing stuff.

    5. Coupons: Sent for rebate on the new Lotus spread (which is deeeelicious), but I won't count it until it comes.

    6. Referrals: Adding £14.56 from iHerb purchase, total now £35.56.

    :)

I've subscribed to the thread so can find it just by clicking user cp rather than trawling through pages of diaries!

For anyone who doesn't know how to do it:

In the second green bar down there's a "thread tools" tag with a wee arrow beside it, click on it and there will be the option to subscribe to the thread.

Once your subscribed if you click on the "user cp" tag in the top green bar it'll take you directly to your subscribed threads page.

Hope this helps some of you! x

I've managed to pay off another 1% thanks to ebay sales! Off to upload some to scheduled listing so all I'll have to do is edit them to go live at a more sensible time :)

    Hi all,

Another update from me but still no more %'s actually transferred into savings as yet - been really busy decorating up the new BTL house which we would have had for a week on Monday.

Had a couple of NSD so that will add £10 into the pot when I get around to transfering it.

Also managed to convert Tesco clubcard points into vouchers for Topps Tiles in order to get tiles to tile the bathroom in the BTL so that means I will have saved £180 on tiles so this will also be added.

I also found £7 in a pocket of my coat as a payment for some craft bits I sold ages ago so this too will be added.

Finally I broke my resolve the other day and ordered some craft bits but I have decided to be good and rturn them (as I had paid for returns slip costing £1.49 just in case) so this will give me another £23 to add to the saving pot.

    So waiting to be transferred is £220 = 11% = 102% :j:j:j
