kids been unbelievably whiny today, mainly my 2 year old :( so we've been rather stressed!

There must be a national children whining day us parents are not aware of! Mine have argued all day! :rotfl:

Have 23 items on ebay now and have sold £84 worth before fees, but not counting towards my percents until they have paid.

Also we changed our minds about surveys/vouchgers and are now using that towards our 1% figures and have withdrawn £40 but waiting for that to entet the bank!

Also moving in March now, which will save us money through: Less Rent, no more University parking, no more University lunches! So hoping to save money there, trying to keep moving costs down too, so banana boxes and lots of friends with cars and vans to help move!

Plus side I will be able to go through the house in one go finding stuff to sell, which can all be listed once Uni is finished! :j
  • after a lot of thought i have decided instead of paying some of the cc i am leaving it in the bank to start paying of the overdraft. although this is less than the cc it worries me the most so its 500/3400 = 14% i think please let me know if this percentage is wrong.

Already i feel better that we are not to our limit the hard part is not dipping into it but i am very determined to clear it.
You can if you think you can .

Hi folks just wodering if a few of you lovely people would give me your opinions please? At the prompting of LMUD I started writing an ebook last Autumn. It is a reference book for activites that can be done with kids under 10 (maybe older) that are cheap. I have actually got to a stage where I beleive I might end up with something I can sell. The content was finished ages and I have been working on formatting/presentation etc which has involved a LOT of learning. Anyway I decided I wouldn't add pictures because it was going to be too difficult. However I might have figured out how to do it. But now I'm not sure whether pictures are a good idea or not.

So..... What do you think? Bearing in mind this book will be read on an ereader or PC etc and considering the subject would like to see photos of people partaking in the activities that are described (9e.g. like illustrations), pictures of diagrams/designs etc for the activities, no pictures, a few pictures, lots of pictures etc? Just looking for a few opinions as I'm totally new to Ebooks in all ways.

    Thanks

    Hi Liz-paul
I think some pictures would be good. You do need to either use your own photos (with permission from the people you photograph to use the pictures) or find ones that are in the public domain which means you won't have to pay for their use. Don't just use images you can find on google because many of them are subject to copyright and can prove very expensive. Getty Images in particular are very quick to sue over images they own the rights to, and it isn't always easy to find out which those are.

    I hope this is helpful.:)

Thanks everyone! Eleanor is partly named after her great-gran Eileen who will be 100 in April. :T. Evelyn was on our list too.

Managed to list some of my items so wish me luck! Good luck to the other Ebayers.

PS Liz-Paul there are often free books on Kindle (varying quality) which have hints about publishing ebooks. I will try and find the one I thought was quite good and give you the details.
  • Oooh congratulations on your new arrival :)

I've had quite a good weekend. Have managed to pay off another 1.5% since I last declared - bring me up to 36.5% - #164 - this has been partly from our friend for lodgings (I'd totally recommend renting out your spare room - even if temporarily!) and partly from ebay sales.

I followed a tip for free listing weekends - list on the saturday for a 1 day listing, and then if it doesn't sell, relist on the sunday. I did this for the first time this weekend, and 3 of my items sold yesterday (all were re-lists!) so that's cool. Have got 46 items now listed left to sell, so am hopeful next weekend will be able to declare again. We shall see, not holding my breath! I do need to get my laptop hooked up to my printer to check my asda price guarantees as this is usually pretty good. Have also achieved my 10 NSDs this month, which is great.

I'm most excited that the credit card that I'm currently busting is now down to just £160, somehow I think that'll be gone before the 0% finishes in mid-April - fabulous  Then it's on to the next one!

My OH is doing a very slow phased return to work now (1/2 day a week), so once she feels up to being back more, that'll make a massive difference. SSP is so rubbish!!!! Right time for bed. Well done all :D
    Total money owed: [STRIKE]31/07/11- £17,877[/STRIKE], LBM - 14/10/12 :j, 01/06/13 - £0 DEBT FREE!!!!
New challenge- save an extra £5000 from non-salary -£1600 (32%)
