Meant to say I am up to 16% = £1280. My MIL unexpectedly paid for our tank of fuel at the weekend at a cost of £60 something, so I just topped it up from my C/A and transferred it over. No joy on selling my Wii on gumtree yet.... Might try a F/B selling page next. Not sure if I'm asking too much money for it...? Its the Wii, balance board, wii fit plus and 3 other games and I asked £100. Is that too much nowadays?1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

Congrats to everyone on their %'s. I know whenever I'm feeling down, or it feels like it's too much, I can always come here and be revitalised.
Congrats to Pisces72 on the birth of Eleanor!

I had some money left over on payday, so I'm happy to declare 3.85% :T £140 was paid off CC1 which is cleared and closed. Plus £245 has been paid off CC2 which closes that card too. I've also closed my Barclays account that used to have the £1300 overdraft. It felt so good to walk into the branch that has caused so much pain and kick them to the kerb! They owed me 52p, and yes, I did ask for it in cash! :j
I have decided not to count the £500 that got knocked off the money I owe my Mum. She'd miscalculated how much I owed her and so she has now reduced it by £500. Technically this isn't money I've paid off, so I'm not counting it.
The MBNA PPI rejection actually may have been a blessing in disguise... I didn't have a big credit limit, and I didn't have the card for long, so I was not expecting much back from them anyway. As proof of their reason for rejection they sent me a copy of my original application form and on it I referenced an M&S Personal Reserve account valued at £17k and a Credit Card for £2k, both of which I had totally forgotten about. I then remembered that the M&S PR account started as a chargecard. Can't imagine why I forgot M&S, as my debt started with that  chargecard (£29.50 for a dress in 1995!!).
Mum had previously successfully claimed for an M&S credit card, so I have now written to M&S today to start the process of investigating the chargecard and PR account. I will also be in touch with the credit card provider soon.
This saturday I am babysitting for my next door neighbour. The first babysitting job I've had in about 20 years. Hopefully it will lead to more.I wanna be a saver, not a spender but first...

Hi all,
Just paid £167.64 on my student loan, thanks to all the stuff I've been selling. That now brings me to 4.67% paid
I'm also selling for people at work and taking a commission. Up to £40 nowBut not counting that yet until everything has been posted. Fuming as I had a collection for today (paid extra for next day delivery) and they didn't turn up! So angry and annoyed!
I also amended my signature as it looked like I had to pay £15,000,000 rather than £15,000!
Hope you all have a great dayDEBT FREE SINCE 25.07.14!

Well ive been to the walk in centre with my reoccurring stomach and back cramps, sent me away with strong pain killers and booked me a scan at the hospital this afternoon, £2 i had to spend on parking
had a scan and they gave me anti biotics but couldnt find the problem
It was horrendous, i woke with the pains at 4am and been up since in pain
So not a very productive day. Just checked Ebay and no bids.

Just paying the minimum on the CC this month, £140 there, £31 on the OD in fees, £308 on the Loan and £93 on the car finance. Hey all,
Still reading away and keeping upto date with all of your progress. I had trouble finding us in the diaries today...have we moved again?
New folks - you will all be on the list before Jan is out and all updates will be on there too.
Happytails - It's good that they've given you a scan, I hope that it eases off for you and you feel better soon.
Pisces72 - Congrats on the birth of baby Eleanor and the start of your percenting journeyHi folks just wodering if a few of you lovely people would give me your opinions please? At the prompting of LMUD I started writing an ebook last Autumn. It is a reference book for activites that can be done with kids under 10 (maybe older) that are cheap. I have actually got to a stage where I beleive I might end up with something I can sell. The content was finished ages and I have been working on formatting/presentation etc which has involved a LOT of learning. Anyway I decided I wouldn't add pictures because it was going to be too difficult. However I might have figured out how to do it. But now I'm not sure whether pictures are a good idea or not.
Liz-Paul - good to hear the ebook has been coming along nicely!
I think with the most popular e-readers being b&w, photos are not really needed. Plus I can imagine formatting being a headache in the .mobi and .epub formats. However you could easily create a .pdf colour version with photos of either the kit needed to 'make' the activity or a photo of people enjoying the activity.
You could sell this .pdf version as being in full colour, with pictures (and maybe some added content?) PLUS the book is the kind of thing people might print out certain pages (instructions, guidelines etc) which would need to be done on a PC, laptop or ipad.
If there are any 'setup' shots (equipment, 'you will need' images') I'd be happy to shoot some high quality images for free to use in your book. I can't help you out with the outdoorsy kids stuff as I'm not a parent
You could always give away some early copies in parent forums in exchange for a picture to use in your book. Also you could get some good feedback on any bits they had difficulty with and you could do some edits based on real world testers!NikkeiPositivity wrote: »Hi Everyone
Little Miss - Have you thought of doing an e-book for the 1% method of paying your debts off? I know you're working lots of hours at the moment but you could take quite a lot of the content from the thread already. Even if you we're to sell it for only 99p and just leave it out there, it may earn you a few pennies with very little effort once completed? How is looking for a permanent role going?
Hey Nikkei, yes! thanks for your suggestions. No perm role as of yet! I'm just keeping on with the web work & wedding photography though!
I have considered writing the 1% method up as an ebook a few times - do you think it would work? I'd love for it to help as many folks as possible. I've also got a few other methods that I find useful too. I probably wouldn't sell it. I'd use affiliate links (same as MSE does) That way anyone can read it but I'd make some pennies to keep the ebook website going if they decide to buy a recommended book or sign up to an online service. As long as it breaks even that would be super!
I looked back on my notes when I started writing it up at the beginning and I was surprised, I had 3 chapters done and notes on a further 7/8. I'll carry on with it as and when - I can write a lot once I get in the zone.
It'd be good to hear if people think it's a good/bad idea. If anyone has any suggestions or ideas I'd appreciate it.
Keep on percenting folks, Jan is nearly over - the lighter nights are on the way!0 -
Hi All,
Rushy reporting in with another 1%, now up to 42%, managed to get some money credited to my account by moaning a company's customer service was a bit crap, as had to wait 2 months for them to do something, and even then I had to fix something myself.
Kept it polite, praised some of their actions, but pointed out where they could improve, then cheekily suggested they could always send me some vouchers/credit as way of compensation.
Lo and behold I got a % credited to me for my troubles :T'1% at a time' Member - #197

Had a thought after overhearing a conversation at work, they were happy as Feb & March are council tax free months, and so they were going to be able to pay a bit off their CC.
So thought I will do the same and use the money I would normally pay for Council Tax towards my %s and put them straight in my money pot the next 2 months, which for me is £125 a month, so this will count as a 5% in Feb, and 5% in March for me!'1% at a time' Member - #197

Things a bit quiet on the percenting front, we've had no spare money at all and I'm waiting on eBay auctions to end. Still, managed to pay another percent off today, making my grand total 4%! Me likey!
Happy tails hope you feel better soon, I fainted on Sunday and ended up in bed all day. I was gutted because I was supposed to do my free listings on eBay but I was too poorly!Working my butt off to buy the house of my dreams!0
