@Nikki Hope you are ok lovely, not a nice way at all to start the year. Fingers crossed that you get all sorted quickly x
@Happytails Right I am going to get on FB selling after seeing how well you do with it!Making a little box of things that could sell - this might be the answer rather than the eb!
Well done all, just think 85k - we could have bought a little house outright hehe! Let's aim for a mansionx

a quick update, after not really being sure which debt to pay off first, i used the common sense approach and im paying off the most expensive interest, the Next account! i startes at £890 so 1% is £8.90, now im down to £560, so i have paid off 37%
member no 102 - paid off 37% (1% = £8.90))

Nikki - I hope you're ok after your accident. What a horrible way to start the year.
Annie - great news about your bonus ball at work. I really wish that we still did that at work, instead it moved over to a syndicate about 6 months ago, and I don't think we've won a thing! But I kind of see it as my "work insurance" - wouldn't it be rubbish being the one left in the office whilst everyone else is celebrating a big win!? Bonus balls are way better - much better chance of winning, and at least you know if you didn't win, one of your colleagues/friends did! Congrats.
Great news for everyone - I just saw on another thread that it's a free listing weekend on ebay this weekendCan't wait to kickstart my percenting for 2013 - have only managed a little 0.5% so far, which seems really slow compared to before!! Got about £30 sitting in my "100 ways" pot which is where I put anything I've squirreled/earnt/saved before paying it towards the credit card, come on just another £15 so that I can pay another 0.5%!!

Hi Everyone...
Needed to come on here with a really honest update... At last pay day in December - I had cleared 20%... That figure is now down to 17% - a drop of £375.00 in real money...
#167 Debt Cleared = 17%
Why?
I stupidly gambled it in an attempt to get a quick-fix on my debts... I won't go into the ups and downs here - as I don't want my own personal struggle to take over another thread... I have started my own Debt Free Diary (Journey to The Emerald City) where I will be charting *everything*. If you want to post a comment feel free - and if anyone's been in that situation - advice is welcome...
Anyhow - I now face catching up that money - which means extra work... but am still aiming for a debt free date of end of 2013... Getting to grips with managing money and believing I can become debt free is also about overcoming old habits and breaking old beliefs about myself.
Now I've got that out in the open and adjusted my signature... I feel like I'm back on track. Please - anyone out there reading this who is thinking of gambling - read my post *before* you spend even a penny. It might just help...
Keep up the good work everyone!!!

Cant wait to pay this to my mumwant to get this up to £200 before the end of the month!
Finally cleaned my carpet so time to get all the bits out to photograph and will list all 99p stuff, saving other stuff for Saturday!

Happytails- you are doing so well on eBay!! Sounds like you'll be hitting your targets very very soon! I know I need to get on to sorting some more stuff to EBay but I have been completely lazy this week with everything that has gone on. I do have one high value item that would hopefully get me atleast half of the £150 so I think I will bite the bullet and list it this weekend! X x2012 '1% at a time' member 99 - 17% 1% = £167
2013 '1% at a time' member 99 - 15.8% 1% = £1390 -
Hi Abundant - I haven't had chance to read your diary, but I guess it's important to recognise the gains you have made. At least you are now able to recognise that gambling is still a risk for you. I suspect there is a thread on here that can help with that - I have no experience of it I'm afraid, but just wanted to say well done for your declaration here - good to be honest with each other I think!
Anyway, really chuffed as have managed to get my pot up to the magic 0.5% to make a payment, did it straight away, as feels like ages since made an additional payment. (I really need to get a grip - it's only been a week!!!) I've also remembered that part of the reason it's been slow lately is because used some of the money i'd generated to pay for a long weekend away for OH's 30th in February!
I also know that there's a few things coming in soon: our friend who's been lodging with us temporarily whilst between houses is moving out soon, so haven't had anything from her so far this month (going to do pro-rata at the end), so that'll be at least 1.5%, also MIL is gifting us £1000 (11%) from a compensation claim she had. Feel like I'm cheating with that one, but would be foolish to refuse it!! Also hopeful to make over a % or two or three from ebay FLW - got some big items to sell so should be pretty easy. We'll see. Obviously not counting any of those until the money is in my account and paid off against the debt!!
Right I'd better get back to work. Keep percentingTotal money owed: [STRIKE]31/07/11- £17,877[/STRIKE], LBM - 14/10/12 :j, 01/06/13 - £0 DEBT FREE!!!!

Hi All,
I am a happy girly as actually managed to get the Barclycard CC with the 0% balance transfer for 2 years :j I am in the process of putting through my balance transfers now so no more interest for me and getting those %'s in quicker!Hopefully this will knock a bit off my DFD date as well, I will have to redo all the calculations once everything has transfered and I get my first statement.
Saying that, I guess my 1% will need to change as all my debt will be on one card so will be higher!! :rotfl:2019 will be my year!!0 -
