Hi everyone,
Nikkei - so sorry to hear about your accident and the delays which are happening. The main thing is you are ok - I'm sharing the anger with you though
Happytails - wow where do you get your energy from
LittleMiss - Impressed with your willpower - whenever I am supposed to be "working" I always get fistracted and reach for MSE!!!
Well not much to report from me again I'm afraid - I did save £1 yesterday as I forgot to take money into school for a weekly fundraising event so did not buy a ticket - I did do my bit though as I sold the tickets and attended the draw so I'm not feeling too bad
The bad news is that I will no longer get paid child benefit so I am now worse off by £130 a month - its not fair that there are some couples who are earning £100k and still getting it but my hubbies salary is only just over the threasold and because I don't work although our household income is a lot less we will lose it  - sorry rant over - guess I will just have to find another way to earn that cash!!!!
On a positive note its only 68 days til Florida xxxx :j
Might try and get my head around Ebay today and try selling a couple of bits I have earmarked. Wish me luck xxMortgage - £2338.07 paid off Feb 2023 BTL 1 £51,089.10 £35789.36 paid off July 2025 BTL 2 £81,504.52 BTL 3 £77,497.020 -
Hi everyone
Nikkei - make sure you point out to your insurers that they told the ambulance they were fine, and that they gave no reason for sudden braking. This can be a scam, my son had the same kind of thing happen to him a while ago, and the insurance company investigated the claim by the other party and decided it was a fraudulent claim, the "accident" was a deliberate event done just to get an insurance payout. Which meant he did not lose his no claims discount or have a claim registered against his policy. They may be perfectly legitimate but it is worth querying.
I have had some good news, my PPI claim has been accepted and I should get a payout next week:j:j:j:j:j. I am jumping for joy as you can imagine, as this will take a big chunk off my debts. I shan't post my totals until I have the money in my hands though, so I am hoping to have new totals and a new goal by next weekend.
Have a good weekend everyone
Savings goal £30,000 1% = £300.

Hello everyone and a big THANK YOU to Little Miss Uni-Debt for starting this thread. :T
I've decided to join this challenge with the rather intimidating goal of £10k, meaning my 1% is £100. LOVE all the fab ideas on this thread.
I'm going to keep track of where all the different amounts are coming from, so I have an idea of which ways to make £100 are the best for me. I've bought myself 100 little brown envelopes in which to put the amounts (OCD or what?), with the idea of transferring the ££ to a bank account when it reaches a certain threshold (1/2% or 1%, not decided yet).
I'm not sure I'll get anywhere near to 100 different ways, but it should be fun trying!
So the first of my 100 ways is...
SURVEYS
I went through all the survey sites that I'm signed up to, and there were a few that had reached the cashout threshold, so I've now cashed those out, and also recently received lunch vouchers from Pinecone. So my survey total so far is:
Crowdology: £13.09
PanelBase: £16.00
Pinecone: £8.00
Total: £37.09
I also ordered a £10 Waitrose voucher from Valued Opinions, and requested a US$60 check from GlobalTestMarket, but neither of those have arrived yet, so I'm not counting them until they do.
I made a list of my balances at other survey sites along with their cashout levels. I don't think I'll ever reach cashout with OnePoll (£40) or New Vista Live (£50) as I very rarely get surveys from them. The YouGov cashout level is high as well (£50), but I usually get a survey or two a week from them, and I NEVER get screened out... if they invite me to a survey, I always get to do it!
My favourite survey sites:
GlobalTestMarket - Surveys are generally worth 15 to 40 points, 1000 points is US$50, sent by cheque in pounds sterling. I usually get one or two surveys a week, and typically qualify for about half of them.
Pinecone - I don't get many surveys, but I always get to complete the ones I'm invited to. Pays £4 in lunch vouchers or Paypal(?). I guess I'm a member of the Pinecone old-timers, as I think newer recruitees only get £3.
Valued Opinions - Surveys are usually worth 50p to £1, though sometimes there are ones for £2 to £4. Cashout is £10 by gift certificate, I usually order the Waitrose one. I got fed up with them last year when I completed a survey only to get disqualified on completion. I also seem to get screened out of a lot of them. Still, they pay fairly well and I do get offered a fair few, so they're back in my good books.
YouGov - Surveys are usually 25 to 50 points, and 5000 points is £50. That's also the cashout threshold, but I like that I never get screened out of the surveys, so they're one of my faves.
The other survey sites I use, even though I don't get offered many surveys from them:
Crowdology - Cashout threshold is only £4 and is paid to Paypal, so I'm sticking with them.
OnePoll+ - this is a different survey site than OnePoll. Their cashout threshold is £8.
MyPaidOpinion - Cashout level is £8.
NewVistaLive - Cashout level is £50 and my current balance is £13.50, so I don't expect I'll cash out this year.
And one I'll probably drop:
OnePoll - Cashout level is £40 and my balance is £3.90, I almost never get offered surveys, so I think my time would be better spent with other survey sites.
And that's my survey roundup!R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was. :sad:0 -
Hi everyone - just lurking about and seeing how you are all doing.
Nikkei - SCAM! The ball's in your court now, I would challenge this to the hilt!
No %'s to report for me - bills are tumbling through the letterbox by the van load, overtime coming at me left, right and centre, but the bills are gonna have it all - grrrrrrr!
Will keep up to date with your sterling efforts and hopefully be able to contribute more %'s in February.
Sock it to 'em!

Right, so my second way to make £100 is...
Online panels
...of which I am a member of exactly one! But I don't participate in it as much as I should, and I could be getting more £ if I took the time to join the discussions. That's what I did last month, and got not only a £5 Amazon voucher for general participation, but another £20 voucher for my ideas in one particular brainstorm.
So I'm adding this to the challenge as kick up the butt to get more active in the panel.
I've only been given the £5 voucher so far, so will only count that one for now.R.I.P. Bart. The best cat there ever was. :sad:0
