Need advice please. I'm doing the 1% on a credit card £67 but I'm also snowballing my debts. Do you think I should keep throwing the money into the snowball so it will be 1% extra or use the1% towards the credit card so I'm bringing down balances on both?
The credit card min payment is over £200
Thanks
Andy
It all depends on the interest rates. To do the snowball you need to put your percents to your most expensive debt.0 -
Hi Little Miss, have you used the Amazon trade in to sell books?
I am just wondering how you get the money for them? I presume the money is paid in Amazon gift cards- but how long from sending the books off, do you have to wait for the gift card? and is it send as an e-giftcard, or through the post?
Sorry, silly questions, but i have £50 of books to trade in on amazon, and £30 of Christmas stuff to buy, so was wondering if it'd be quick enough for Christmas?0 -
Have just thrown some more money at my Next Account - £5.50 from not having wine last night, £11 from £2 coins and 20p's squirrelled away over the weekend and £5.50 saved by not going to a cafe for lunch on Friday. That's another 4% chucked at it, taking me to 32.5% now. I feel like a 6 year old with my colouring pencils out - it's very cathartic.Decluttering junk and debt in 2016

I am a lurker on this thread - have been since the start

Has anyone else noticed that Happytails has been missing for a few days, fingers crossed that all is well and its due to the a little ones safe arrival. One small step for ME, one giant leap for my family!
2015 - my Amazon Gift Certificate mini challenge - saving to buy small household electrical items.
Total £9.120 -
Right then, time for an update from me no 154
Have just worked out the correct 1% totals for the 4 credit cards
MBNA 1% = £29.57
Virgin 1% = £28.99
M+S 1% = £26.71
HSBC 1% = £7.40
Total 1% for November = £92.66
Sales from ebay at the weekend came to around £25 and have 2 bids on items listed yesterday. From my totals it looks like I need to make about £100 per month to tackle the 1% extra debt repayment per month.
I have around £200 and 2% made from ebay to put towards this after taking out money for the car service and MOT.
Time now to set up my 100 square grid and get colouring in those squares!
I have at last made a list of all the extra money making ways to put into practice over the next few weeks and months which for me will mainly be ebaying and decluttering
ornaments
unused beauty products and make up all sealed and new
clothes that no longer fit
shoes that never fitted in the first place
spare furniture
unused unwanted gym equipment
Then its onto music magpie and green metropolis for unwanted music and books and by that point I might have clutter free house again, greatly reduced debt on credit cards and a decluttered mind!final unsecured debt to repay currently £8333Proud to be Dealing With my DebtDFW Nerd 1154 Long Haul 1550 -
Hiya, Im still here. Due today!! Had a false start to labour on Friday (5 hours worth) and again yesterday (5 hours worth). Spent the weekend doing alot of walking trying to bring labour on and keep it going so been a bit sparse online!
However i managed to list 16 things on Ebay this weekend. So hopefully some will sell!! Nothing much to report really. Plodding on. About to check the bank to see how much my overdraft charges are for last month. Im expecting £25-£30 (usually its nearer £50).
Sounds like everyone is doing wellLiz-paul, sorry to hear about your phone!!

Lots of it you wouldn't be able to find anywhere else or would've cost so much more. Another of my fail-safe gifts is a home-made shortbread in christmas shapes or tray bakes on "vintage" trays/plates etc from charity shops, they're always welcome!
Thanks for the info re mobile phones liz-paul! I'm due an upgrade soon and had been browsing. I want to drop my monthly payment (£26 but varies between that and up to £30 if I've sent a couple of photos/gone over my mb allowance) Going to have a look at sim-only deals & cheaper monthly packets but paying a bit for the phone
I don't have a house phone so decided what I could get from Vodafone seeing as I'm a gd customer an all. so I got unlimited txt and calls plus 300min to 0844 numbers. Two GB of internet AND the new galaxy S3 for 31.00 per monthMay Grocery Challenge : 64.81 so far

Hi All,
Well I've had a great start to the week! I was given notice by my landlady a couple of weeks ago and I viewed a room in a flat last night. He was asking £500 a month inc bills for the unfurnished room & I have managed to get him down to £450 a month plus a bed and a chest of drawers! :j Move in in 2 weeks - so excited!
Am going to try and keep back the spare £50 each month to add to my %'s2019 will be my year!!0 -
Glad to see you're still with us happytails - sounds like things are happening. Keep us posted. Have you wrapped up your Ebay listings already in case you're too busy later in the week? Mark each parcel up with a discreet number and keep a list of what each number means - at least then hubby can finish it off and take them to the post office if he gets a spare mo ....
Kayleighpea - every cloud has a silver lining, eh? £50 saving towards debts is brilliant.
