Right....i have started! Want to save a minimum of £4000 for a second hand car. Started to ebay in june and have now cleared so far £325, counted the change jar and have £53.00. Not far off the 10% mark! Have to start getting a little bit more inventive now!
Just shipped off trade-in books to amazon. Thats 11.65 voucher off any christmas present buying!
Gonna clear my cc's and catalogue bills by stop being so spend happy. Have about £150 cashback which can pay off some of the balance. Will have to work out how to do the thingy at the bottom of my posts. Im sure i will feel better when i see them getting lower!
Not buying any more toiletries until everything is used up first! Just poured all the leftover shampoo from various bottles into one bottle. House full of boys I doubt they will notice, in fact I doubt they wash!!!!!!!! How stingy am I lol!!!:rotfl:Waste not, want not!
Slow and steady wins the race!0 -
Pretty cool that this thread is in the email
I have started mine todayAm going to aim to save £8000  Seems like such a huge amount of money but I know it's possible....
I have my first 1% already - gained from Ebay & gumtree. Still got £15 leftover towards the next 1%
Showed my wall chart to the kids (they are only 3 & 6) and they both got some change from their money boxes to add to the fundThey added their bits to our sealed tin that we already have for disney world. Hoping it might contain the final 10% when we crack it open....
Another suggetsion for making a few quid - do some ironing for friends and family.....1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

Liz-Paul that's so adorable that your kids put their money to the fund!
Also if you're going to Disney world Florida, there's lots of ways to make it more affordable! Flights are only £300 in Feb, the weather is beautiful & there are zero queues at the theme parks! Having a villa & a car for a family is often much much cheaper than staying in a package hotel on International Drive. You can also buy reduced park tickets which cuts down costs even more!
It's really easy to make Florida a much cheaper holiday than people think!0 -
Hi all,
Liz-Paul, that's so sweet about the kids.my daughter would do that, she's 3. But she spent her pennies on chocolate since we stopped buying it :rotfl:
Well oh paid £430 off the credit card so that's 8% maybe? Not sure as our cc isn't 0% and we've been refused 0% ones as of late  but anyway, it's a good chunk off our £6500
I'm getting my £65 for my kindle sale tomorrow so that's another 1% and I'm cashing in my phone which is £220 but only putting £100 of thatvtowards cc as I need groceries and petrol too. But that's nearly another 2%.
Got a few books i can rid myself of, which is the best place to cash them in/sell them as a bulk lot? XDFW Total £21,800 to clear by Dec 2022
MFW Total £184,950 £179,066 to clear by 20350 -
Thanks guys - they're pretty good kids! 3 yo thinks we're going now but think the 6yo gets the whole waiting for 2 years aspect!! We've had the tin on the go since New Year and the kids contribute some of their xmas/birthday money...
I am going to try to do it as cheap as pos but I've set a high budget because in an ideal world we will have 2 weeks in Florida (some or all of which will be with another family) and then drive up to Boston stopping at a few places along the way bringing us up to 4 weeks!! This is all dependant on things like money and OH being able to take the time from work  I decided to set my targets really high in the hopes we don't need it all (the leftovers can go to the next big trip!!!).
Have a few more % in the pipeline so hopefully have over 10% before Sept...1% at a time no. 40. £8000 (For dream family holiday) 94/100

2 days until payday then I can join this challenge properly! Liz-Paul - your kids are so cute!!! :A
This week I have joined up with DooYoo - I was already with Ciao. I am registered with tonnes of survey sites and things like Swagbucks but apart from Swagbucks I haven't used them regularly in a really long time! I must get back into the swing of it.
This weekend, I am hoping to sort all my books out (I have a LOT!) and the ones that I want to sell I will compare between the different sites recommended on here to see which is best as I have loads of specialist books from college.
Welcome to all the new members and some fab % achieved! xx0 -
I have just had a look through my craft box(s) and have about 6 quilts that I could make just with what I already have in the house.
Never thought of selling them before, mostly given them away to people that have been ill or had a birth recently.
If I make all six I should make enough for another %.
trouble is, I have no idea how to charge for things.Ebay 13........1583.46/2000.00 Amazon sales 54/50 Etsy sales 63/50

I've been tracking my percentage paid in my sig for a while and I find it really motivating. 1% for me is £140. I worked out a pay roughly £20 per day to my debts so thats also 1 week less of being in debt.
I'm a bit of a numbers geek

415Sanfran you could have a look at etsy or folksy and see how mych simlar things sell for on there, that would give you a good idea, or if you have any local crafts fairs pop along for pricing ideas, good luck, hand made quilts sound like a great idea.
