I'm going to get a sheet of paper and divide it up into 100 squares, then I can colour in a square each time I get a percent paid off! Have to make it fun, don't we??!:rotfl:

I've done this too! Withdrawn my next % from paypal, just impatiently waiting for it to clear! And hoping to carboot tomorrow maybe.

Money withdrawn from Paypal has cleared meaning another % paid off for me :) Hope you had a good weekend Little Miss? I didn't end up going to the festival in the end as my friend and I decided we couldn't afford it, am glad in a way as I would be having a serious money hangover today if I had gone!

Well my goal is £14100. £141=1%
I have £240 saved-not sure what the percentage is-I know it's more than 1 and less than 2 but not sure how to work it out. :(
I've sorted it-I've paid £41 off the debt and saved another £1 so I'm now on 2% :D

    240 / (divided by) 14100 = 0.017 * (times by) 100 = 1.70% :)

Well done everyone and I hope you had a good time at the festival Little Miss.

Since I started reading this thread I have managed to pay in a further £360 towards my £3000 from craft fairs, sales of my handmade items to friends & family, anniversary money from my parents, money for delivering local guide. So with the money I had already added this year, I have now reached 28% of my target.

That sounds much better than only having saved £800ish pounds!! Its so motivating dealing with it 15% at a time so thank you once again Little Miss for your brilliant idea.

Now - how to make the next £30!!!

    Hi all,
I am following this thread and just wanted to give some comments to people mentioning selling on facebook. I gave up selling on ebay due to the fees and postage costs. I have been selling on facebook since 1st March and have made £419.50 all cash in hand. I have to keep re-tagging the selling pages in, but eventually as more people join someone wants the item. Well done everyone :-)

Just been reading up on your thread and I wanted to say what a great idea & good luck with paying off your debts :T

I am going to steal/borrow your idea to get me saving for our trip to Florida! Have to get myself a huge sheet of paper to put 100 squares on and fill them in each time I get another 1%. Am aiming for 1% per week for 2 years. ust not sure what my final total will be, somewhere between £5000 - £8000
Good luck & thanks again for sharing a great idea

Great idea with the 1% - I keep a diary on MFW board and I track my savings in terms of % I have compared to my mortgage. Currently have 7.1% of my mortgage in savings. Like the idea of doing it 1% at a time, very motivating to have it in small chunks :D If I tried for 0.5% per month that would be do-able.
