No, not related to the McCanns, my trip was planned first!

I'll fit Sitges in on the Barcelona days ... don't do planning though, got to be spontaneous ... especially when it comes to kissing girls!!!

Still don't know where staying in Madrid. Was supposed to be staying at Sietaislas through Hotelclub, but they now say they have no availability (it was 'On Request'). So am open to suggestions! x

An update to my half-refund saga: (see HERE)

Hotelopia finally responded by email (just as I was about to get my wife to phone them) saying that the remaining £558 had been sent for refund on 30 May. As of today, 12 June, the money is still not in my account. I think I'll give it until the end of this week before badgering them again.

I myself have had an email today confirming that the £557 due to me is being processed today and I should see it credited to my account in 5 - 7 working days.

Ended up getting the Tryp Cibeles on Priceline for £50 ... was only messing around, didn't expect my bid to be accepted! x

I read the main article today re double the difference and checked the website and yes the offer was still in place this afternoon. However this evening the terms have changed to a mere price match (plus £10 off your next booking) at clause 15:

Finally, after emailing them with copies of their own emails, copies of the confirmation of my wife's refund AND a copy of the screenshot of the cheaper price from www.find-rooms.com (lucky I kept it), the refund of the missing £558 is finally on its way back to Mrs Baker's credit card. They even sent me a screen shot of their merchant account showing this!
