You t&c's remain unchanged, they can't be retrospective. your contract was under the terms at the time.I have a cunning plan!
Proud to be dealing with my debts.0 -
They can't change the T&C's after you've booked (unless you agree to it) so they'll still have to pay up for claims that have already been agreed.
On a personal note, my wife finally received an email saying that the 'missing' £558 had been processed on 30 May and would be credited to the card in around 3 working days. She's checked her account and it has STILL not materialised. Following budgetflyer's advice, she's going to call them later.
Hotelopia's own 'Best Rate Guarantee' is actually better now as their version is a maximum of 4 people, maximum 7 nights and the difference refunded within 30 days of completion of the stay. Better to just use Hotels Comparison and go to the cheapest provider via a cashback site like Quidco. This space has been intentionally left blank0 -

Yeah, I noticed that too. Good of them to let you have a refund of the difference for 4 people again but still make you wait 6 months for it!This space has been intentionally left blank0

LOL
Sorry missed the 30/180 day refund difference, just "saw" the "improvement" on the 2 person 2 day EJH old t&c's.I have a cunning plan!

I have received a confirmation email that my claim has been accepted and that I will receive a refund of £193.28 for 2 nights of my 4 night stay in Barcelona. :j I used Holiday Nights as a comparison, thanks to advice received.
The email states that this amount "will be refunded 60-180 days after your complete staying in the hotel as per our Terms and Conditions regarding our price guarantee".
I booked the other (much cheaper) nights through hotelopia direct with cashback and discount as highlighted on this thread.
It has taken a while - I booked over 4 weeks ago - but well worth it. I am delighted.
Thanks to everyone for advice. I am sorry that the offer appears to have come to an end, but by my reckoning the total is now
£32976.68
Well worth a little celebration I think. :beer:0 -

Timeline of events ...
My holiday for 4 nights in Barcelona was booked before all the Ts&Cs changed ... I booked/submitted my claim on Feb 7 (10pm or thereabouts) ...
On the morning of Feb 8 I got back a message (that was corrupted i.e. between every word was £*!"s*/fc") ...
I replied to say "I'm sorry your message was corrupt - please resend" ... and in the meanwhile ... submitted a fresh claim with a different website ... at approx 3pm on the 8th (so still within the 24 hour time period) ...
Feb 9 - 9pm - message recieved "I am writing to let you know that your claim has been approved by our Head Office and £244 will be refunded to your card"
Feb 10 - 11am - message recieved in reply to my second submitted claim " Please provide us with a booking reference"
Feb 10 - 11:30am - my reply "the booking reference was in the e-mail ... xyz123"
Feb 10 - 12 noon - message recieved "ok it has now been accepted - we will refund on your return"
Feb 10 - 1pm - my reply "could you please confirm the figure in £GBP that will be refunded and let me know which of my two claims has been accepted?"
Feb 12 - 12 noon - my chasing them "I refer to my below chain of emails - could someone please confirm the sum that will be refunded"
Feb 12 - 5pm - their standard email that everyone else seems to have got :

account approximately 5 working days after the end of your stay at the Hotel NH Calderon .
If you require any further assistance, please do not hesitate to contact me.
I wish you a pleasant stay!

Feb 16 - message from them - "just in case you did not recieve the email on the last few times I have tried to send to you - your price match has been accepted and £244 will be refunded"
=== skip a few months ===
went away in April ... didn't have a particularly good time but that is by the by ...

May 22 - 7:30pm - I message them ... "I refer to the below e-mail which said I would be refunded the sum of £1076 within 5 days of my stay ... could someone please confirm that the refund will be issued by close of business tomorrow"
I was feeling a bit forceful
May 23 - 1am - their reply ... which was simply ... a copy paste of the up to date T&C's ... which I think they were essentially trying to say ... you'll get your refund within 180 days of check out and not sooner ...
I didn't get chance to write a snotty reply saying that I booked before the T&C's changed and I am to be refunded within 30 days of check out ... when ... wait for it ...
I've been refunded £244 ...
Of course ... I wholly intend to dispute it/get the rest of my money ...
I'm just not sure what is the best way to go about it ... am I to send more e-mails back and forth hoping they will give in ... or is it better to send a letter before action and threaten to issue a claim in the small claims court ...?
I have all the emails going back and forth between us to support my case ... I'm just not sure that my claim could fail because I simply didn't acknowledge the few emails that they sent to me saying I would be refunded the £244 because I was pursuing the big money ...
I know if I issue a claim and lose ... the worst case ... I'll lose the Court fee and that is pretty much it because it would be a small claims track matter and no solicitors fees would be payable ... so I wouldn't be in much worse a situation than I am now ... no?
Any help anyone can shed on the matter/point me in the right direction/give me a suggested wording ... I'd be very happy ...
I currently feel like a bit of an idiot to be honest ... the missus says I should have just booked a proper holiday in the normal way in the first place rather than trying to do EasyJet over and right now I have to agree ... lol
Please help
Thanks in advance
MrC
i dont think you have a leg to stand on as you only have an email promising back a smaller amount which they have refunded,0
