    Hello all!

Please can someone help me find a room in Edinburgh? :) I've been looking since early this morning and still not had any luck!

I'm looking to go from 7th-9th September (I could possibly go the weekend before or after this date as well). Would prefer a hotel in / close to the city.

Looking for as cheap as possible, thanks in advance.

You could book Travelodge Central @ £70 pn- it really is right in the old town.= £140

    or

You could price match Active Hotels against Londontown.com

See my guide for exact method

APEX EUROPEAN HOTEL 7 Sept 2 nights rm only

Londontown £258 (select option 2 pay on departure , option 1 is prepay, no cancelation allowed)

Active hotels £238 as are booking.com (same booking conds as LT option 2)

Londontown should match the price and give you £100 so your effective price will be £138 after cashback.

Remember this is risk free, as theres no upfront payment and you can cancel without charge right up to the arrival day

In an effort to bump up the total, please could someone inform me if holidaynights can be used as a comparison.

It does not appear on either list and a search of the site has not brought up an answer.

    Thanks in anticipation.

Have I got my anniversary sorted.........

    Carlton Hotel - Edinburgh 26/08 - 28/08
Superbreak - 268 inc scottish breakfast
EJ - 434 inc scottish breakfast

hope this would mean after refund I'd get the hotel for £102 for 2 nights?

Is this right - really scared about booking coz I've never tried this before - the only conceivable difference I can see is that the superbreak website call the hotel Paramount Carlton and EJ call it the Carlton - it is the same hotel though!

Any help/advice would be really appreciated

    Cheers - La x

A small one for the pot - approx £330.

My friend, with my help and the fantastic advice from this thread, had two nights at the Holyrood, Edinburgh for £40 ish, with an upgrade to the VIP suite on the second night. She hasn't stopped talking about Paul the butler since!

    Kind regards

I am fairly certain that is the company whose price was accepted for my friend. At the time we weren't sure if they were acceptable and so did have another back-up price just in case but when we worked out her refund it definitely wasn't the second company's price. (There was a slight discrepancy in the refund that I thought she should be getting and what EJH said she was getting but she never queried it. She was just too delighted to be getting such a good hotel for such a fantastic price.)

    Kind regards
