Van Meuwen plant offer £14.95 Delivered.

I've been told my 40 plug plants being posted today - I'm sure that was not what offer was for - but can't find offer now - anyone tell me what it was again?

Offer was 40 assorted bedding plants for £10 plus £4.95 postage. Supposedly with a value of £100

I received an email from them yesterday telling me to expect delivery via Royal Mail within 5 days, they turned up today, well half of the order did, I ordered 80 plants, it was clear they had been overwatered and the leaves were going black and there was white fluffy mould on the root plugs.

I called them to complain, they asked if I wanted to wait until next spring for replacements :eek:, needless to say I said no, they said they would refund for 40 of them but I would have to wait for the rest to turn up as the nursery doesn't always despatch orders at the same time, doesn't the call centre have access to despatch information?, I told them I ordered them at the same time so why can't you despatch at the same time, they then got a bit snappy saying that it does say delivery within 28 days, I pointed out that 28 days is a legal requirement for delivery but retailers don't usually make their customers wait that long for items they have in stock, so I have to wait 2 weeks to see if the other plants show up before I get a refund, needless to say I will be giving them a wide berth in future, their greed has damaged their reputation.

Incidentally my local Asda give away bedding plants that are wilting and a bit rotten, these cheeky buggars actually try to sell them, according to their web site they say they are overstock items hence the discount, they make no mention of the fact the plants are dying through improper care.

Hi, had my so called £100 of plants delivered today, just left on the gas box outside the house. What a joke, these plants are barely worth £15 let alone £100, and all state trailing plants on them. Can anyone remember if it specifically said bedding plants on the advert, Im sure it didnt say they were trailing??? I rang up the company and they said oh it should say trailing and bedding plants on the boxes, as you can use them for both, well theres no way you can put a trailing plant in as a bedding plant, I said the whole point of a trailing plant is that it hangs down, wheres it going to hang if its in the ground!? They couldnt answer. Sounds like the kids on customer service have been lumbered with all the complaints and just give a standard lame response. I have filed a dispute with my credit card company and see if they have better luck at getting my money back.

If these complaints are representative of all or most purchasers, perhaps the administrators of MSE should be looking at not listing such "offers" in future.

I've just received mine today following an email yesterday. I have to say I'm disappointed there is no way they are worth £100! I too would like to see the original ad but can't find it. It was included in an MSE email as that is where I saw the offer. Any chance of seeing it again as I don't remember it being just hanging basket plants which is what I've got.

Did everyone get the same i wonder. I got 2 packs of each, No1, No2, No3, No4, hanging basket collections.

If you go onto the Van Meuwen web site and log in, Check your order details, you will find that the description was for "Sizzling Summer Collection" of plants, and the photo shows a garden bed,not hanging baskets. So we did not get what we ordered.

Have to agree poor value compared to the 'copy' supplied for the weekly email - plug plants are substantively different to plants - I believe we all have a case for advertised goods not being sent.

I ordered what I thought was £100 worth of plants for £15.95 on 7th June. I received an e-mail yesterday saying my 40 plug plants for hanging baskets were on their way by Royal Mail!!!!! Obviously I need to read the small print better. I am waiting in anticipations for their delivery.
