"You can also request transfers in from other ISAs you have with us or other providers. You can find information on how to transfer an existing ISA into this account in the Cash ISA Base Rate Tracker Key Features and Account Terms and Conditions [PDF]."Kim_13 said:
Opened but it’s not allowing the internal transfer, it says there are restrictions. Overnight wait or funding required does anyone know?dc_scotland said:SKIPTON
Skipton have released a new and flexible Cash ISA Base Rate Tracker paying 4.16%.
https://www.skipton.co.uk/savings/isas/easy-access/cash-isa-base-rate-tracker
And in the PDF itself:
"If you want to transfer your ISA savings, you can transfer some or all of the amount, depending on what your current ISA provider allows. If you’re transferring from one Skipton ISA to another Skipton ISA, you can only transfer in full."
So no reason why you shouldn't be able to transfer from another Skipton account as long as you're transferring in full. I've had no problems transferring between Skipton ISAs before. So maybe put £1 and try again tomorrow, and hope that does the trick!0 -
Can you transfer CMC ISA to them, I wonder?clairec666 said:

It appears so. If you start the transfer in process, CMC Invest are one of the options in the drop-down list, however it then says "Your existing provider does not currently use electronic transfers. You can start the process online, however you will need to print off the pre-completed ISA Transfer form at the end, sign it and send it to us."guli said:

Are Skipton any good? Any red flags that I should be aware of?
Considering transferring from Vida0 -
I've always had a good experience with Skipton.winkowinko said:Are Skipton any good? Any red flags that I should be aware of?

Only thing worth noting is that if you have more than one ISA with them, then making an internal transfer between ISAs can only be done by transferring the full balance, resulting in the closure of the account you're transferring from. I got caught out by this once and ended up unintentionally closing an ISA, although to be fair it was made clear in the T&Cs so was my mistake.1 -
Taking advice from @surreysaver in June (last time Skipton launched a better ISA), I phoned Skipton yesterday and got my Issue 8 Tracker upgraded to Issue 9. Took about 5 minutes, and kept the same account number.
I've used Skipton for years, mainly for Regular Saver accounts, and have always been happy with them.2 -
I did exactly as you did, Nick_CNick_C said:Taking advice from @surreysaver in June (last time Skipton launched a better ISA), I phoned Skipton yesterday and got my Issue 8 Tracker upgraded to Issue 9. Took about 5 minutes, and kept the same account number.

The process was quick and it was easy to ‘upgrade’ the ISA.I’ve always found a prompt response to my calls to Skipton, knowledgeable staff, and a speedy execution of my request.Highly recommended.Digital Payback

Thanks, I'd missed that idea.Nick_C said:Taking advice from @surreysaver in June (last time Skipton launched a better ISA), I phoned Skipton yesterday and got my Issue 8 Tracker upgraded to Issue 9. Took about 5 minutes, and kept the same account number.

I have run my Skipton side ISA down flexibly this tax year, to take advantage of better rates elsewhere. Usually what I do is put the money back in, internal transfer, and take it out again.
If I upgrade, do I need to fill it back up again first to avoid losing my flexible allowance? I appreciate no one may have encountered this scenario, and I also appreciate that what is theoretically lawful isn't always what happens with IT systems.0 -
@gwapenut. I did exactly the same as you in June. I took about £9k out of Principality, paid it into Skipton, transferred Skipton v7 to Skipton v8, then withdrew the £9k from Skipton and sent it back to Principality.
Upgrading over the phone means you keep the same account number at Skipton, so you can avoid all this. And further contributions I make to Skipton are simply replacing what I have previously withdrawn.
(I move money in and out of Skipton on a weekly basis.)
See pages 920 to 924 of this thread for other comments on this scenario.1
