We just need you to look over and agree to the legal bits first.

    • I have not subscribed and will not subscribe to another Cash ISA in the same year that I subscribed to this Cash ISA.
    That's rather annoying.

Guess that’s another one to add to the “won’t let you subscribe to another ISA” list 🙈

The Daily Mail and moneyfacts are listing a Newcastle B.S. single access ISA at 5%. This interests me, because unlike all the others above it in the rate table (please correct me if wrong):
    1. Electronic transfers
    2. Flexible (just 1 flexible accss is all I need)
    3. Easy Access
    4. Not a brand I distrust (Zopa, Plum, Chip) without real contact numbers for resolving the ISA transfer issues which seem to affect me routinely

However, the mail's link takes me through to a landing page without the ISA on it. Might be one to watch today if of interest:

    https://www.newcastle.co.uk/savings/cash-isas

Sorry to drag up an old post... but this account is indeed now available (in branch only) as I opened one today.

Strangely there's not even a mention of this account on the Newcastle BS website, but was being advertised in the window of the branch.

Might be useful to some if you have a Newcastle BS branch nearby. My account was opened instantly with the usual excellent customer service.
Is this what you're referring to? It's available online

This Newcastle account doesn't seem very appealing......flexible interest rate meaning it will be going down and only 1 penalty free withdrawl a year......where's the upside ?

It is flexi, so the 1 withdrawal you can make can go back in again later in the tax year.
  • I suppose the upside is the 5% on offer but aren't we expecting this year to see rates fall ?

It's flexible, the rate is near the top of the variable tree, and electronic transfers immunise you from the clown show which is Royal Mail. It also has real humans to talk to if ISA transfers go wrong.

Strangely their reactivation declaration is correct.

Virgin CS by phone. Agree declaration is wrong and will be changing it ASAP.

Their T&Cs / KPIs / Summary all seem to be OK too (or at least don't contain any prohibition). It's just that last page of stuff in the application process.

What a strange coincidence. I am just back from my local Virgin branch and signed the above declaration so I can put more funds into my Exclusive ISA 11, which I had as maturity option end of March. Was hoping for them to activate it straight away but been told it can take up to 48 hours.

At the same time filled out a transfer in form to move a Shawbrook ISA over once matured end of April.

Not had such a great service and banter in a bank branch for a while. Staff seemed well informed but when it came to the exact details I did notice that their training may have been not that good as some uncertainty about the new rules was noticeable.

All my other transfers and contacts with the hotline in the last 2 weeks were quickly answered and all tasks completed as promised and on time.
