    CAN ANYONE ADVISE?
ME AND THE WIFE BOTH HAVE OUR ISA ALLOWANCE AVAILABLE FROM LAST YEAR, AND HAVE THE PROBLEM OF FINDING SOMETHING FOR THIS ALSO!
IF WE WERE TO DO THE BARCLAYS ISA WHICH HAS BEEN SO WELL DISCUSSED I'M NOW TOTALLY CONFUSSED AGAIN, WITH NOT BEING A BARCLAYS CUSTOMER, WILL WE HAVE TO OPEN AN ACCOUNT TO SET THE ISA's UP?
ALSO, WHERE IS THE BEST PLACE FOR A LARGER AMOUNT OF MONEY £30K??

I opened a Direct ISA with Abbey in April 2007 and now want to open a Direct ISA Issue 4 with A & L and transfer the Abbey money in. I have used the £3000 in the Abbey for this tax year. I know I can't put any more in a new ISA this tax year but can I open two ISAs with different providers in the same tax year? Hope this makes sense. Thanks in advance.

You can't deposit more than £3,000 in this tax year, but you can transfer the cash to a.n.other provider.

You cannot carry forward ISA allowance from "last year". You do not have to be a Barclays customer to open a cash ISA. You and your wife simply fill in a form and can each deposit £3K for this year and then another £3,600 after 5th April.
