Principality are a little unusual at least compared with types of savings providers who tend to pay market leading fixed rates, Principality start fixed term when account is applied for whereas other types of savings providers start fixed term from funding date hence the difference when 14 day cooling off period starts.Desk said:Just spoke with Principality and their 14-day cooling off period begins from the point the account was opened, not funded, and so I have it confirmed I have until close of play tomorrow to decide. The very pleasant lady I spoke with note that a lot of banks had been pulling their five-year ISAs in recent days, and so the 5.35% for five years seemed like I'd got a very good deal.1 -
Yes and from recipient bank after 14 days I believeaaj123 said:

Marcus where they still use quill pens, require transfer forms sent by snail mail and about three weeks later transfer by cheque with their ISA.
Mine took just under 6 weeks to complete up to cheque clearance.0 -
The direct number for the Natwest ISA team is 0345 2464528 although I'll warn you the waiting time is appalling! In my case 1 hour 10 minutes just before 3pm on Thursday afternoon before they answered! When I told them that Virgin had said they were having issues with Natwest sending transfer requests to the closed Virgin office in Gateshead the woman I was speaking to was surprised as she advised transfer requests to Virgin are done digitally!samtaylor99 said:I opened the Natwest 2 year Fixed ISA and left it unfunded until the details showed up online. I then requested the transfer of a Virgin ISA via their online transfer in form on August 12th. No notification showing receipt of my request and no movement as yet. I realise it was just before their deadline so they probably had an increase in transfer requests, but reading saverbynature's comments I'm beginning to wonder if the transfer will complete. Can anyone comment on their timeframes transferring from Virgin to Natwest? Is it possible to speak to / Email a non-chatbot to find out if the transfer has been started?2 -
Thanks saverbynature. Was the Natwest ISA team able to give you the info you needed regarding your upcoming transfer ? I'm getting uncomfortably close to their cut-off date.0

Not entirely! The person I spoke to in the Natwest ISA team maintained that Virgin had rejected the inital transfer due to something in the application not matching the information they had on me despite Virgin maintaining they hadn't received any transfer request from Natwest! They also couldn't understand why Virgin told me that they'd had lots of issues with Natwest requests being sent to a closed Virgin office in Gateshead as transfer requests to Virgin are sent digitally! However they double checked the details I'd given on my inital application and said the best thing they could do was to put a completely new request through. They also advised that by them doing the new request it would ensure that when the transferred funds are finally received I will definitely get the 5.9% interest rate which was applicable at the time of my application on August 8th and not the current lower interest rate. However the ISA account that was opened has shown the interest rate as 5.9% all along! They did say that realistically it could take up to 10 days for the transfer to be actioned but hopefully would be sooner. It seems that things may be on the move though as the ISA is no longer displaying as one of my Virgin accounts today although there's no sign of the funds appearing in the Natwest account yet! If I was you I would definitely call the Natwest ISA team to check what is happening with yours. Although if there is an issue I would expect them to have written to you like they did me. My letter was dated 2 days after my initial online application but took 5 working days to arrive.samtaylor99 said:Thanks saverbynature. Paragon now doing a 4.5% double access ISA with a monthly interest option, which probably makes it slightly preferable to Newcastle's annual interest option at the same rate.1

anyone having trouble with Nat West transfer from Saffron Reg ISA? Saffron's sort code is Barclays and info Nat West has is the Saffron (via Barclays) sort code and the account number of the ISA. Its been 14 days since the letter confirming the Nat West ISA opened to be funded by the Saffron Reg ISA and nothing since ??? nothing to say there is a problem and nothing showing online either. Transfer completed ! Showed up in my Natwest Account this morning. Would have been nice to have had some communication i.e. 'Transfer form received' along the way but it's done now. Thanks for your help.saverbynature said:

I agree the communication from Natwest on the transfer hasn't been great. I did get a "letter" confirming the account had been set up in my Natwest online mailbox (I've been a Natwest customer for many years) but the letter advising that Virgin had rejected the transfer request dated 2 days after the account opening was physically printed and posted and took days to arrive.1 -
This no longer shows on their website therefore not sure if still availableEirambler said:Paragon now doing a 4.5% double access ISA with a monthly interest option, which probably makes it slightly preferable to Newcastle's annual interest option at the same rate.
Got this on the 08-AUG (ti.e. transferred from triple access account to this double access one as the interest rate on the DA is slightly higher).1
