    Thank you for clarifying.
I was slightly annoyed about missing the deadline but I can use this for me money and transfer the old one.
Now I just need to figure where to get the 20k (from which accounts)

Once the branch based is set up, it's it possible to access and control it online please?

Nationwide new ISA rates 4.1 1 year, 4.25 2 year
Lump sum only subscriptions so its all or nothing with them rather than seemingly more usual approach of giving you x days to fund.  So no ability to open one and wait to see if anyone comes up with something better in next 14-28 days as it appears it has to be funded on opening and in the full sum you want to subscribe.  And it seems it needs funding from a NW current or savings account rather than from a third party bank account which could mean an extra step of having to transfer funds from elsewhere to NW a/c and then from there into ISA.

Was tempted until I saw these hurdles...but they've made it too onerous

Paragon Bank Fixed Rate Cash ISAs
    1 year 4.2%
    2 year 4.28%
    3 year 4.25%

    And 18 month @ 4.30%

Nice thing about Paragon is that its an ISA portfolio so if you're a bit undecided about the length of fix you want to commit to you can open several, e.g. 18 mth and 2 year, and split the subscription...plus with the 28 days to fund no rush to fund in case anything better appears.

    Stupid question alert!

If I have 20K in a cash ISA with Charter, I should only also have max 65K fixed savings correct? All interest paid away monthly, so would only ever be 85K total in there

Correct in that you should ensure you only have £85k saved with them in total over what ever accounts you have with them if you are concerned about staying within the FSCS protection limit and you are concerned about Charter potentially getting into difficulties

Yes, if you stick to a maximum of £85K in total (including the cash ISA) saved with Charter, all your savings are fully protected by FSCS protection in the very unlikely event of anything going seriously wrong at Charter.
