The implication, rightly or wrongly, is that the transfer, using paper forms, could take another 3 weeks. Electronic transfers, on the other hand, are more or less immediate.2010 said:Consumerist said:
The maturing ISA is/was with Virgin Money. In any event, it wouldn't have mattered - there was no option to transfer-in an existing ISA during the application process.refluxer said:
That's odd - who was the old ISA with ? If they aren't part of the online ISA transfer scheme, then I thought a paper form would be required no matter who you transfer it to.Consumerist said:I was disappointed that Santander required a paper transfer form to be printed, completed and posted in order to transfer-in a maturing ISA. Fortunately, no such nonsense required to transfer-in to Virgin's 1yr FRISA at 3.02% AER.. . . Simply complete and submit the relevant ISA transfer form available on our faq page.

Link to online Santander ISA transfer in form, in case helps someone:
It sometimes throws up a error message when opening, but refreshing seems to sort it out.
For anyone perhaps nervous of the link, it's available via the Santander site, for example the "Transfer ISA in" button here:
https://www.santander.co.uk/personal/savings-and-investments/isas/eisa
(might need to log off for the button to appear though, for some reason)3 -
Well, I may have entered something wrongly on the FRISA application but I only got a downloadable pdf transfer document for printing and posting. I'll have a look for an online transfer form or apply for new FRISA altogether to see how that goes.2010 said:

Thanks for that link. Tried it and was pleased to see the following message:If your provider is not within the drop down list, you will need to print off a form to transfer your funds.Virgin Money did appear on the list so I must have done something wrong - or, more probably, setting(s) on my browser prevented that page being displayed.

Not sure if it's already been mentioned, but Marcus and Saga have both increased their easy access cash ISA to 1.80%. Neither accepts transfers in.0

Nice Coventry has already announced it's future updated rates for the base rate change, and their Limited Access Online ISA is going up to 2.25% 7th October (from 1.85%)

I haven’t read all your comments so this reply may be off the mark. I opened a virgin ISA a week or two back with £20k and then saw the Santander 1 year and decided that the rate plus the evoucher was good enough and used the on-line Santander transfer and it all went through and transferred within a few days. I’m not however expecting my Amazon £50 for two months or so ……Consumerist said:AlwaysLearnin said:Link to online Santander ISA transfer in form, in case helps someone:It sometimes throws up a error message when opening, but refreshing seems to sort it out. . .Ok.
