DD - unfortunately like a lot of other threads the first post has been deleted. I am planning to upload a backed-up version of my first post.

Thankyou so much for going to all this trouble again to help us all.Your list is so useful,i have now signed up to 2 new fixed rate ISAs ready for when the interest rate starts dropping.
• Anybody interested in a really long fixed rate cash ISA? Halifax are offering 6.50% on a 4 year fix which allows transfers in, minimum £3,000.

See here.

The other rates are not quite so impressive but are as follows:
1 Year £10,000+
6.25% (as already noted by Kazza in the thread above)

1 Year £3,000 - £9,999
6.10%

2 Years £3,000
6.25%

3 Years £3,000
6.20%

4 Years £3,000
6.50%

I'm not sure if I want to tie up my money for 4 years but that is a pretty good interest rate so I thought I would post something here in case somebody else finds it useful.
• I feel I should also say thanks to Kazza - this is a great thread and I am glad you were able to restore the important first post. Thanks again!

I am very much liking the look of the Saffron ISA. Good rate, and a BOE guarantee (exactly what I've been looking for in anticipation of the interest rate drops that are predicted without the inflexibility of a fixed rate).

Come the end of the Barclays bonus, and a new tax year...

OK, earlier on I updated the NS&I Direct ISA rate which was reduced from 6.30% to 6.05% on 6/12/2007. This is following the Bank of England's decision to reduce UK interest rates from 5.75% to 5.50% (w.e.f. 6th Dec 2007).

• Hi, newbie questions about to come i'm guessing.
I want to open up an isa but with the hundereds of deals available i'm unsure which to for
Currently i have £3000 in a garenteed tracker savings account with lloyds tsb, have never had an isa before. The mini cash isa that they are offering has a rate of 5.35, which compared to the others i've seen is quite low, but i think it might be easier if all my money is with the same bank

Hi, welcome to MSE.

Check out the first post in this thread, here for other mini cash ISA options.

As many ISAs will allow you to operate them online you don't really need to keep all of your savings with one bank. Nowadays, it's more straightforward for people who have internet access, to manage multiple accounts from different financial institutions. So don't be put off of going for a better option, as the idea of moneysaving is to maximise your interest.

The NS&I and Egg cash ISAs are worth a look as well as the Yorkshire BS and Principality BS e-ISAs, which are all currently paying 6.05%.
