The first post of this thread has been updated.
As we are reaching the time of year when people are using up their ISA allowances (to avoid losing them), I will be updating the thread. Please call me 'Kazza'.8 -
Cynergy easy access ISA is shown as 0.60% on https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-cash-isa/#topeasy but as far as I can see, they are offering 0.66% for their fixed rate ISA, and nothing for their easy access variable ISA. https://www.cynergybank.co.uk/personal-savings/cash-isa-fixed-variable-rate/cash-isa-fixed-variable-rate/

You're looking at the wrong page - the 0.6% variable rate account is at https://www.cynergybank.co.uk/personal-savings/online-isa/online-isa-issue-16/ (which is the link provided in the MSE article)Arthurian said:Cynergy easy access ISA is shown as 0.60% on https://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-cash-isa/#topeasy but as far as I can see, they are offering 0.66% for their fixed rate ISA, and nothing for their easy access variable ISA. https://www.cynergybank.co.uk/personal-savings/cash-isa-fixed-variable-rate/cash-isa-fixed-variable-rate/1 -

Interest rates on cash ISAs are slowly nudging upwards again so for a more up-to-date list of what's currently on offer you might want to have a look at <This is Money> site.

Yes, MSE can sometimes get a little out of date which is why I tend to check at least a couple of different sources. In this case, it's the 'This Is Money' site which is a bit out of date, as it doesn't include the current best-paying 1 Year Cash ISA (0.90% @ Castle Trust Bank, according to MSE)Consumerist said:Interest rates on cash ISAs are slowly nudging upwards again so for a more up-to-date list of what's currently on offer you might want to have a look at <This is Money> site.

The MSE list is hopelessly incomplete in terms of what is available - only listing what it considers 'best buys'.

To be fair, it consciously doesn't seek to do anything else! If you're looking for comprehensive listings of the hundreds of accounts out there, then this site would never claim to include that, but simply identifies the top few in each category according to its own policies and definitions, as it does in other subject areas too.Consumerist said:The MSE list is hopelessly incomplete in terms of what is available - only listing what it considers 'best buys'.
Moneyfacts is often cited as a resource that does attempt to cover the entire market, and https://moneyfacts.co.uk/isa/instant-access-cash-isas/ currently has 83 easy access cash ISAs listed, for example....

I've not seen much movement in ISA rates since our two base rate rises. I had a 0.76% ISA since 2020 with Cynergy. And that has not gone up. 0.65% is frankly a pathetic low rate, being wiped out by 5% inflation.

But both still above the current BoE base rate. When the base rate catches them up, then you could reasonably expect to see some movement. Clearly the base rate is way too low for the circumstances, but a decade of cheap debt has left many exposed to the risk of financial ruin if they were to experience 'normal' interest rates.MiserlyMartin said:I've not seen much movement in ISA rates since our two base rate rises.
