Cash ISAs: The Best Currently Available List

Sure. Anyone can get 1.5% easy access which is worth approx 110 extra (using a simplistic slightly inaccurate calculation) before tax.
For a 123 account this doubles to become about 200 extra before tax but after deducting the 123 fee.
For the isa, this beats all but the complicated arrangement of 3, 4, 5 % accounts for non and basic rate tax. For higher rate tax i believe it beats all others.
I haven't done the numbers but you would get precisely the same amount of interest in the feeder account regardless of whether the target RS is an ISA or not. So the extra money is a red herring.0 -
Not when you're comparing a regular saver against a current account in the way that you did.
You biased the current account figures towards double the level of savings versus the rs. Not a red herring at all0 -
Anyway, why don't we discuss this in a dedicated thread instead of one devoted to cash isas.
I think the discussion has merit, but not here - this thread is for discussing rates for a particular kind of savings vehicle, in a subforum dedicated to that particular kind of vehicle.
Whether the interest is slightly less in an isa may not matter to people who don't want to open an extra 3 current accounts to be able to open a further extra 3 linked non isa regular savers. Some prefer a slight rate hit for the simplicity of 1 account versus 6, and others prefer the chase. Each to their own, of course!0 -
I haven't biased anything. I have just worked out some numbers for different scenarios. But you are right, probably not worth discussing further here for now as almost everybody by now knows that cash ISAs are presently not the best deal for most people.0

Hi Kazza
Just checked the Saffron BS Four Year Step Cash NISA and it DOESN'T accept transfers in from other providers (I guess it does accept transfers from its own ISA accounts) - could you, please, move it from the section that does on your master list on page 1?
thanksMortgage Free thanks to ill-health retirement0 -

Virgin Money have just launched 1 and 2 year fixes at 1.65% and 2%.
Both of these accept transfers in.
