Principality Building Society are launching a new regular savings ISA for 2013/14 subscriptions. It pays 3.00% (fixed) and allows savers to deposit between £20 - £480 per calendar month. It does not accept transfers in.

The payment amount can be varied each month and multiple payments are allowed up to the £480 per calendar month limit.

Principality BS Regular Saver ISA (issue 4) has been added to the first post of this thread.

1st page on this sticky and Coventry both clearly state "This ISA is for the 2013/14 tax year"

As the deadline is today, you will only be able to open one in a branch!
Having said that most banks/soceity's have been saying all applications by post/online since last weekend would be processed for the new year.

How much do you have of your allowance for year ending today??
Your best off starting here I think:
    http://www.moneysavingexpert.com/savings/best-cash-isa
Specifically the "Last-minute 2012/13 cash ISAs" section in the first 1/4 of page.

Best way to use your ISA is to have maximum allowance earning interest for as long as possible, so depending on how much you have to deposit, you could start one for the new year & stick it all in watch the interest roll in until this time next year!

Having failed with the Coventry, I have now suceeded in opening a Tesco ISA online. Problem is that I need to transfer funds into it. At this late stage I can only do this by debit card by phone. Currently waited 25 minutes, but "they value my call" and "will answer shortly". Lines shut in 57 minutes. :(

Can you not do it online? I opened a Tesco one last week and made three lodgements to date via Debit Card - all online!

I'm looking at the Principality Terms and Conditions.....

    Two in particular strike me:
    • Following the initial Investment you are required to make at least 11 further monthly Investments of between a minimum of £20 and a maximum of £480 each month (‘Required Investments’).
    • Interest Fixed until 5 April 2014 then reverts to our Variable Rate Cash ISA

This being the case, you need to keep the account open for 12 months and you would expect the rate to be pretty low (currently 0.6%) after 5th April 2014.

With this in mind, and considering that no withdrawals are allowed, would I be best opening an account tomorrow with the minimum £20 investment? I can't afford the full £480 this month, unless I withdraw from my current Tesco ISA.

However, as far as I can see, I could lodge £20 this month and then increase it to £480 for subsequent months.

By doing this, my 12 monthly payment could be made within the Fixed Rate period.

Anyone see any problems with this? I see Nottingham have a higher rate and people report getting one opened via post. However, I'm from Northern Ireland so the distance may be seen as 'taking the !!!!'.

I can't see any issue with this at all. This ISA allows you to vary the monthly payment amount and you can make multiple payments up to the maximum £480 per calendar month.

Under item 9 of the terms and conditions it states:
Where your total amount of Required Investments made into your ISA at Maturity will be less than your full Cash ISA allowance for 2013/2014 (£5,760) you may make additional top up payments between 1 March and 5 April 2014 so that as at 5 April 2014 the total balance in your ISA is £5,760. The top up payments may be made by cash, cheque, standing order, faster payment or direct bank transfer from another Principality Account (if permitted by the terms of that Account).

Therefore, they allow savers to make additional top up payments to their ISA (between 01/03/2014 - 05/04/2014) so that the full allowance (£5,760) is deposited.

Wouldn't go online - the Tesco site is really slow at the moment, so there may be a processing issue.

First payments online, sending from my bank account, even with faster payments, take longer and they estimate delivery of funds 8 April - Monday morning but could be quicker.

Mine failed twice. Went for NSANDI instead - Went straight through and got instant confirmation (paid via debit card).
