    Santander 2.80% 2-year ISA:

Does anyone know how to open this ISA for 2013/14? There's no option on the application and if you put £5760 in the funding box, it won't accept it. I have a 2012/13 ISA fully funded with new money already, so don't want to open a 12/13. I'd like to fund it with a transfer from a maturing old one plus the 2013/14 limit on 6th April.

Phoned the number but closed as holiday.

    Any help much appreciated/

  • Have you had a letter with account number etc yet from Cheshire? I have had email confirmations that my application has been processesd and a letter from my old provider saying my funds have been transferred but haven't had any account info yet, and opened my account around the same time as you. Starting to get worried!

I received my confirmation email with account information and balance about a week ago.

It took while to get to me but at least I got them...

I think you should call up Cheshire as soon as you get a chance.

You can't open this as the t&cs say you must fund for this tax year with the option of next year.
As said above wait until Saturday and see if still available.

Two new isas that have just cropped up both from cov building soc. - can't see them mentioned elsewhere:

Poppy Cash ISA - 2.5% new money only, instant access, from £1.

ISA Reward - 2.5% transfers in from other Cov ISA's, instant access.

    Clicky

Just of to swap my Cov fixed rate to their ISA reward.

Their Junior isa @ 3.25% is good as well.

  • Hi all,

I applied for a Santander 2.80% 2 year Major ISA yesterday (1 April) and sent all the required documentation to them. In their email they said the following:

"Funding for the 2012/13 tax year
If you intend to open and fund a new ISA in the 2012/13 tax year, please contact us on [x] and book an appointment at your local branch by 5th April. By returning your documents to the above address, you will be opening your account for the 2013/14 tax year."

I am a little confused by this - have I just applied for a 2012/13 ISA or 2013/14 ISA?? lol. If any one can shed some light on this I would appreciate it. I think MumOf2 has a somewhat similar situation. Thanks

Not the worst, but Danske Bank have a 4% one and Halifax a 6% one.

Thanks, this is exactly the problem! You explained it better than I did...

Have decided to go for Halifax 3yr 3% for two transfers and 2013/14 subscription.

What they are saying is that if you want a 2012-13 ISA, you must go to a Branch before the end of April 5.

If you send it by post to their central ISA team, your ISA will be opened for 2013-14.

It makes sense - there's now just not enough time to get stuff reliably to anywhere by post, and then process it, before the end of the tax year.

I rang Cheshire today. They said they were still waiting for the funds from M&S. M&S sent the funds on 11th March. Rang the Cheshire back and was told they would ring me back after checking with the 'finance department'. Guess what? They didn't ring me back. Looks like they've lost the cheque. Not sure how to proceed as they just try to fob me off when I ring Cheshire.
