I was thinking more in terms of the accounts that ISA providers launch specifically for storing funds prior to the start date of a new cash ISA.

I have been editing the Cash ISAs: The Best Currently Available List for nearly six years and during that time there have been (taxable) accounts that some ISA providers have launched specifically for this purpose.

For example, some providers launch new cash ISAs to commence from the beginning of the new tax year. However, some of them have provided a taxable account for savers to deposit funds during February, March and up to 5th April, which is automatically transferred into the ISA (from the same provider) on the first day of the new tax year.

Referring to the backups I have taken of the ISAs list over the years, I can see that I had tended to already feature this type of feeder account on the list in the 'Notes' section of the relevant cash ISA.

As I am and have been for some time, looking for decent ISA rate for new tax year the following interest's me somewhat.....
    Regular Savings Cash ISAs:

Nottingham BS Starter ISA (issue 3) - 4.00% NEW with effect from 06/04/2013
    Minimum operating deposit: £10. Min - Max monthly deposit: £0 - £480.
    Operated via: Branch.
Notes: Transfers in not accepted. Withdrawals not permitted. Must be opened in branch only. ISA matures on 05/04/2014.
**Further info will be added following the launch of this ISA.**

However, I can't seem to find this account on their website and I was also wondering if this was fixed or variable as thread doesn't advise........?

Could be they have withdrawn it since the list was last updated. I cannot find it on their website either, but it was a "in branch" only account anyway so would have to visit the branch to open it.

It's only good if you plan on paying in each month. If you're planning on putting in the full amount at the start there would be better rates, though the headline rate would be lower.

It's been added to the list prematurely. Somebody reported being told about it in a branch recently, it is due to open in time for the new tax year and designed for regular ISA savers.

As you are not allowed to make withdrawals it is likely to be fixed interest. That interest rate has not been confirmed yet and there are no details on the Nottingham website.

If its of interest you will have to wait to see what they release next week.

They had a similar offering at the start of this ISA year too, so that would make sense.

I've transferred into the Cheshire 2.5% but I've got another ISA maturing soon. There shouldn't be a problem transferring that in should there? That's if I ever get any paperwork telling me my account is actually open!
I opened mine on the 7th. Funds have left halifax and I've had texts from Cheshire saying it's now open and to expect the paperwork soon.

    No paperwork yet

Have you had a letter with account number etc yet from Cheshire? I have had email confirmations that my application has been processesd and a letter from my old provider saying my funds have been transferred but haven't had any account info yet, and opened my account around the same time as you. Starting to get worried!

In my case, I got the account info through the post from Cheshire about 5 days after the following email.
Thank you for applying for an ISA Saver.

I am delighted to tell you your application has now been processed. A letter is on its way to you confirming your account details. If you do not receive a letter within 5 working days please call us on 0808 144 3880.

Thank you for saving with Cheshire Building Society
If it's been longer than 5 working days, perhaps you should phone them on Tuesday.

I suspect they were snowed under with applications just before they reduced the rate so it doesn't surprise me that they have dropped the 5-day time-scale for the time being.

Yes, I wondered if that may be the case as your email is worded slightly differently to mine. I applied at the beginning of March. I know it's busy around this time of year but, to be honest, wasn't expecting it to be anywhere near as busy with rates being so dire. I suppose we all still need to put our ISAs somewhere though!

    Will ring them anyway.

Yes it does. I know because I just looked at the link provided. Couldn't you?
The rate has been at 2.75% for a very long time. No question of being sucked in then for them to drop it. If you have only just transferred, it may appear like that but if you've been with them for a long time you have been getting a very competitive rate.

actually it doesnt, just downloaded pdf from hsbc site, drops only for new accounts, no brainer where this years monies and my transfer from m&s isa is going to next week :)
