This is interesting.
Let us assume this product remains available for the 09/10 tax year. Even if you had the full £3,600 available from day 1 of that tax year, it is probably better to go for this than put all of your money,as a lump sum, into an alternative paying, say 3.5.% fixed. You could drip feed your money across from a high rate savings account.0 -
Bath Building Society has a good ISA - Premier Cash ISA, 3% fixed rate for a year (minimum balance £1).
It would appear to allow you to add further funds at a later date. So new ISA money in April can be paid in, or other ISAs can be transferred in at a later date (e.g. if they are in a fixed rate ISA now).
It can be opened and operated by post.0 -
Thanks for that info - 180 days notice for withdrawls is a lot though! At least it becomes "Easy Access" after a year.kingmonkey wrote: »0 -
NatWest e-ISA - 3.51% AER
Rate guarantee? Yes, but not at the current rate. AER guaranteed to be at least equal to Base Rate until 01.07.09. Rate effective from: 02/02/2009.
Minimum deposit: £1. Operated via: Internet.
Notes: Must have or open a NatWest Instant Access account (excluding e-savings and savings direct).
I don't remember seeing this mentioned anywhere (I'm sure it must have been), but the rate is upto 3.51%. Balances under 10k only get 3.25%. Linky
I presume that if you have £11000 in, you only get the higher rate on the last £1000 of it.0 -

No, if you have £11,000 (or £10k) in the Natwest e-ISA ISA, your whole balance will receive the 3.51% interest rate. Total balances under £10,000 receive 3.25%.Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -

The first post of this thread has been updated.
The new 2 Year Fixed Rate ISA by Principality Building Society, paying 3.30% (and not accepting transfers in), has been added to the list. It launches on Monday 23 February 2009.
Also added, is the new 7.00% Regular Saver ISA by Saffron Building Society. Pay in between £25 to £300 per calendar month.
The Nationwide Fixed rate ISA interest rates have fallen from 3.50% for 3 years to 3.25%. Also falling this week was the Egg ISA - down from 3.05% to just 2.05% - therefore I have removed it from the first post. ISAs by building society's, Earl Shilton and West Brom have also been removed from the list.
Next update midweek...Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
Hi,
Charity Bank pay 3% on their ISA, allow transfers in and require 30 days notice for withdrawals. (They're also very user-friendly, & dealt with opening the ISA with my Icesave transfer in a couple of days.)
