    Hi,

Charity Bank pay 3% on their ISA, allow transfers in and require 30 days notice for withdrawals. (They're also very user-friendly, & dealt with opening the ISA with my Icesave transfer in a couple of days.)

Last rate change appears to be 6th Jan 2009. ;)

Egg slipped that change in quietly - my wife has 3 years worth of ISAs with them but we haven't been informed of the big reduction! Another one to transfer I suppose!!

If you're applying for their fixed rate 7% ISA and live outside of their local area, you only have until Monday March 2nd to apply (and you must also send certified copies of ID).

Why do you think you need to send certified copies?

It doesn't say you need to provide ID on their site. It says they will try to indentify electronically and will contact you if they need documents to confirm.

Perhaps Sarahlord means that the possibility that they may need you to send documents if they can't verify your identity electronically might delay your application.

I read this on the Saffron site:

Before you return your form, it's important to make sure you have done the following: (from this page)

Maybe this applies only if they contact you? Confused me!!
  • I agree confusing.

I've also found there is a box on the application to tick to say youve included ID, but I've sent mine with none so will see what happens !

    • NatWest e-ISA - 3.51% AER
Rate guarantee? Yes, but not at the current rate. AER guaranteed to be at least equal to Base Rate until 01.07.09. Rate effective from: 02/02/2009.
Minimum deposit: £10,000 (to qualify for the higher rate). Operated via: Internet.
Notes: 3.25% is paid on total balances of £1 - £9,999. Must have or open a NatWest Instant Access account (excluding e-savings and savings direct).
    Hello!
what is exactly the meaning of "Rate guarantee? Yes, but not at the current rate"?
what will it happen after 1/7/09?
I will pay my first £3600, so I will be elegible for 3,25% and with Natwest I should open a new account.

The other option I was considering is ING
"Our current rate is 3.0% AER* variable (2.96% gross p.a variable, including a 1.47% bonus fixed for 12 months from opening) reverting to our variable Cash ISA rate currently 1.49% gross, 1.5% AER."
Will it follow the variable rate?

As a general rule, it is convenient to traksfer every year all my own cash Isa to the highest rate ISA account, isn't it?
If yes, at the beginning or at the end of the tax year?

    thank you

Is it worth inserting in the list this e isa account?
    HBSC AER 2,75%
it seems to have not any hidden aspect and accepts transfers.

Could it be convenient for me?
As it has a variable rate, the interst rate should increase, the problem is to guess when?!
