These are all covered up to 50k. The contact through post seems to be the only downside.Save saynoto0870.com in your favorites, and stop giving companies more £££ dialling 0870 numbers when you can dial freephones or cheaper alternatives
call your credit card company, tell them that you want to leave, 99% of the time theyll lower your APR%
Remember when that Bank Manager or Salesperson smiles at you, all he sees is £ notes. Dont forget the motto, "the wider their grin, the more debt your in"0 -
I would have gone with the
Monmouthshire BS Cash Isa that pays 3.5 but I only have 8k in mine and not enough.
Whats the chance that there will be attractive deals in the beginning of the new tax year in April? Or will they roughly be around what we are seeing now?
I know these things are not known but just a general idea would be good.

Hi,
I'm looking to setup a cash ISA for the first time, I will probably contribute the whole £3600.
I bank with HSBC but I was looking at the NatWest E-ISA @ 3.2% gross, would this be a safe bet?
I've never had anything other then a normal bank account so any advice would be greatly received.
Thanks0 -

Telephoned them this morning 13-02-09 and was told that this one (3.50%) fixed for one year was closing today, so close so near. The person on the other end of the phone said they were bringing another out @ 3.2 somthing.
Don't blink anybody or you might miss it Halifax have dropped their fixed term rates today as well.0 -
why is this such a farse getting well annoyed trying to find a place to put my money! Makes it seem quite pointless at times for the small gains some places are offering.0

The first post of this thread has been updated.
Some more providers have cut their rates in response to the UK interest rate cut in February 2009. Most notable cuts are by Manchester Building Society (now 2.75%).
On the Fixed rate ISA front, Halifax have reduced the rates offered on their fixed rate ISAs now paying 2.70%, 3.10% and 3.50% for 1, 2 and 4 years respectively. Monmouthshire BS have reduced their fixed ISA rate to 3.20%.
Ruffler Bank are now only accepting new deposits and transfers in from existing customers.
There have been a couple of new ISAs launched. They are called Cash ISA Plus (paying 4.02% interest) and are being offered by NatWest and the Royal Bank of Scotland.
Next update this weekend. Please call me 'Kazza'.0 -
I've heard the Dunfermline BS will be launching a "Reserve" version of their current Fixed Rate ISAs next week.
This will allow you to book your 09/10 ISA now by depositing your £3,600 into a "Reserve" version that will automatically become a Fixed Rate ISA on the 6th April.
So you will be able to fix your rate before another rate change. They've also got two of the best rates on the market with their 1 year Fixed at 3.25 and their 2 year fixed at 3.75.
Keep an eye on their website early next week for details!0
