Cash ISAs: The Best Currently Available List

That assumes you keep your £10,000 saved in the ISA for 12 months. But you only need to have the ISA with them for as little as 3 months (say 1st May to 1st August) and can then transfer elsewhere. So you can argue if you manipulate things it is a very good rate for 3 months on £10,000 i.e about up to 6.75%pa (2.75% + 1% * 12/3). Whether it is worth it for the small amounts involved is another matter.

I thought about depositing for 3 months for the equivalent of 6.75% interest but a decent chunk of the funds would have to come from some of my regular savers, the lower paying of which are looking rather lean. Also, I would subsequently want to transfer £4,000 into my LISA (have already fixed £10k of this year's allowance) but, it appears First Direct don't offer partial transfers of current year funds, and I don't want the hassle of transferring somewhere else first just to transfer out again. Having said that, the bulk of my previous ISA money is in another fixed rate account that matures in August, so I suppose I could shift some from that at the time. Decisions, decisions…🤔
