Well the Terms of the offer say
What are new funds?
• Funds that aren’t already held in any account with HSBC, first direct or M&S Bank, before 9 March 2026.
I interpret that to say that new funds can go through any account you like.

I interpret it to mean that if your money is held in a HSBC account, First Direct or an m&s account, then it is transferred to your HSB ISA, that it will not count as new money and therefore will not be eligible for the cashback.

That would also be my interpretation IF before the 9th of March wasn't mentioned.

What are new funds?
• Funds that aren’t already held in any account with HSBC, first direct or M&S Bank,
before 9 March 2026.
• Transfers of investments from existing HSBC portfolios, including third party products
recommended by HSBC, or rebalancing do not qualify as new fundsAs we have already passed 9 March 2026 - any fresh funds from outside HSBC, first direct or M&S Bank and deposited into your HSBC current account is and should be considered "new funds". And thus transferring this from your HSBC current account into your HSBC Fixed ISA should be eligible for the cashback.

I think this clause is to deter existing HSBC current account holders before 9 March 2026 to just deposit existing non- "new funds" to be eligible for the cashback. They want "new funds"!

A tad underwhelming, won't be bothering. Don't know why they bothered to send out emails in advance.11 -
Very underwhelming!
Looks like this year's money will go to either Saffron existing account, or a new one with Atom.

There's nothing amazing out there as I thought there would be today. I may put another £20k in Moneybox but that's only 4.26%. Already had T212 so I should think this is the best I'll get.
