    Am I right in thinking that this Prosper bonus (£384 gross on £20,000) is not only taxable, but isn't covered by the FSCS guarantee?

    Many thanks for posting.

    I have a Nationwide fixed rate ISA that matured a couple of weeks ago. I've been holding off doing anything with it in the hope that they would have something better than the rates they had. I'm trying to keep the amount of financial institutions I have accounts with to a minimum, so this is perfect for me.

    Do you know if you can have more than one of the same ISA, eg 2 x 1 Year? I'm going to transfer my current ISA, but I may decide to open another one in a couple of weeks. Thanks.

    Edit - Account opened and funded 😁

    I only opened their 4% version in the last 2 weeks which included the cash back offer. I wonder if I can upgrade it to the new 4.5% as it's inside their 30 day window? Their support is a little long winded, but might be worth a call.

    You're within the cooling off period, so are able to withdraw from the 4% account without penalty and open the 4.5% version. I don't know what the terms of the cashback offer were, but I guess you could lose out on this if you don't keep the money in the account for long enough, but the extra interest gained at 4.5% might make it worth it.

    Am I right in thinking, if I switch to HSBC premier via £100,000 savings criteria, (I don’t meet the salary requirement) transfer my £100,000 cash ISA I would get £750 (250 switch and 500 cashback) and 4.50% rate.

    I looked at this earlier, that would be my understanding.

    Didn't dwell since I have a First Direct account so don't qualify for the switch bonus.

    I remember reading that the bonus payment isn't counted as interest, so whilst it is paid outside of the ISA wrapper it shouldn't be taxable (obviously until you put it somewhere else that earns interest on that payment).

    {ETA - sorry, I may be wrong here, as obviously it's still "income" so possibly should be reported somewhere - but it won't count towards your £1000 PSA}

    Not sure about the FSCS, but I'd think it is covered as all the wallet funds are covered within Prosper (via Griffin Bank)

    Mrs BB caught that as she was in a branch today, so she pounced!
