Hi everyone. I am back. I have been having some really bad problems with my radiotherapy and I have felt quite poorly. I have decided to try and keep a balanced diet and after christmas I will begin again. Although since September I have put on a pound. Not bad eh. Hope all my friends on this website are ok and hi to all the new people who have joined recently. Speak to you soon.

Had bad day yesterday. I tried a bit of the mincemeat I'd made and that started me off. Had nothing in the house to make a snack with so started raiding what I could. Found a jar of chocolate spread I didn't think I had and kept eating teaspoons of it. Then went to get pint of milk and came back with box of chocolate liquers on offer and ate the lot (upstairs in the bedroom so hubby didn't see). Then made risotto but put in cream, and parmesan. Didn't eat the lot but polished off a couple of glasses of wine
Oh, and I found a packet of wine gums and eat them.
I always seem to get to this kind of weight, losing a stone or so and fall off the wagon. Am desparately seeking motivation! This is the first bad day I've had for weeks but am feeling quite dispondent and fruit isn't appealing! That's why I tend to avoid bad foods, as once I've got the taste I can't seem to stop!
Weigh day is Friday so hopefully I won't have put on too much.

Hi all, I know what you mean Alfietinker, I have the last stone to lose and joined slimming world 3 weeks ago, I lost 6lbs in a fortnight but last night lost my will power.Muffins, custard, rice pudding, wheat crunchies(I dont even like them) cider, I just couldnt stop myself.
I am now munching on low fat chips, bake a potato in a microwave for around 5 mins, slice into chips while still hot, season with salt and pepper, place in a baking tray and spray with fry-light(£1.75 at Morrisons and lasts ages) place in hot oven for twenty mins.Delicious0 -
Welcome to MSE! Glad to know it's not just me.
I've just been for a walk at lunchtime and feel much better. Instead of eating less to make up for it, I'm going to eat exactly what I usually do but without the wine at the weekend. Don't want to ruin my metabolism, so I'll just put it down to a bad week if I put on a pound or two.
Might try those crisps!!!New year, no debt! Debt free date - 02/01/07 :j :j :j0 -
Does anyone know of any GI diet slimming clubs, either online or ones you attend? I have done Weightwatchers before and I can't really face it again, plus my doctor said I should try GI. I just find it hard to get motivated when it's just me. Also, what's your favourite 'fun' exercise? I go to belly dancing classes which are brilliant, but I also enjoy just dancing around at home (when no-one's around!). I hate the gym, I always give up.0

Hi, Ive been a member of this site for a couple of years and have only just found this post!!
Ive struggled with my weight since the birth of my first child in 1993 and have tried every diet going. But in Feb 05 I took drastic action and had a surgical procedure called a Lapband. Since Feb 05 Ive lost nearly 5 stone and only have another 20lb to go to be at my ideal weidght.
I dont know if anybody knows about this but it is basically a silicon band that is placed around the top of your stomach. This creates a small pouch which only allows you to consume small amounts of food at any one time and stops you feeling hungry. The amount of restriction you have can be adjusted by fluid being added/withdrawn from your band by a doctor with a needle. The good news is it is reversible and doesnt have any long term side effects.
It is drastic and is only suitable for morbidly obese people who have tried every other method. I had to pay for this privately (£5k) but it is available on the NHS if you are suffering health problems caused by being overweight.
If anybody would like any further info please feel free to PM me.0 -
