Hey Elona, thanks for the support :-*

Am really concerned about her now .... strange I know, but since last year, she has changed drastically, it's like getting to know a whole new person, and I don't really like this new person :( But me being so loyal to old friends, I can't just give up on her ::) But I'm working on it ;D She's been doing some very dodgy things lately and I don't want to be associated with that kind of happenings thank you ::)

Anyhooo, just to clear up .... you don't have to post your actual weight Mimi ;D just how much you have lost in the target period ;)

So, Sun 5th December is the day we report our loss. I am down 1lb already ;D so am really looking forward to next sunday - just hope I don't put it back on ::). Group target is 7lbs ;)

See ya then (and in between ;D) people :-*
I can say whatever I like here ... 'cos no one can see me .. ner ner ner ner ner !!!....

How do you know I ain't sitting here butt naked?!?!

I thunk I've made you think for a minute!

Mmmm, who needs friends eh. ??? ???

Drop her Ally ... you're a far better person than she'll ever be. You've given everyone great support on this forum and are obviously a very caring person. Anyone who enjoys upsetting a "friend" like that obviously has a big problem. Life's too short to put up with this sort of behavior and risk getting upset everytime you see/speak to her. elona's quite right, she's obviously jealous as hell and I'd avoid her like the plague.::)

By the way, when did the "target period" start?

    Roll on the 5th December .......... ::)
    Wins since 2009 = £17,600

    MANY THANKS TO ALL OPS

2lbs. a week is the safe/recommended amount to lose. Any more than that and it's more likely to be fluid you're losing and you'll probably find you put the weight back on easily.

  • Hello all, hope you have room for one more in this happy family?
I have finally decided it is time for a life change.  For the past...for ever i think, I have had either no self-confidence or low self-worth, and have decided that it is now time to change what I can, and since plastic surgery is off my list, it is time to lose the weight.
I know I am probably thinking wrong, but I am hoping looking good/better on the outside will convert and will make me happy.
I have a target of about 1.5 stone, and to try to get my BMI out of the obese and into the normal range.
My problem, Will Power, and I know by reading the posts here I have come to a place where you are all doing fantasic and hopefully can gain from your experience and knowledge.
Now I dont mind the gym and I know this is one of the places to start, by I am hopeless when it comes to nutrition, and to top it off I cant cook for toffee.

I look forward to hearing how you all continue on your downward adventure, and hope to tag along for the journey.

Welcome to the board and well done for the decision to take some action!

I know exactly what you mean about low self-esteem, etc.  At 12 stone, I'm now well over 2 stone lighter than my heaviest ever and feeling so much better for it.

The gym is a great idea and, if you've no idea about nutrition, there are diets that are all worked out for you in the form of ready-meals, meal replacements, etc., though most of them don't come cheap and I'd always advocate "doing your own thing" wherever possible.

If you like veg. and fruit, you're half-way there.  Stuff yourself silly with these, keep meat nice and lean and cut down on your carbs. (and alcohol if you drink).  After a while, when you see the weight drop off, it will give you added incentive to keep going and you'll find your portions will naturally become smaller as you start to shrink!

We're always on hand for support and any advice we're able to give.

Good luck and keep us informed of how you're doing.

    Hello and welcome Welsh ;D

Will Power!! You'll get plenty of it here ...... we have plenty of power to share ;D

Mimi ... as always ... has given fantastic advice. Top up with healthy fruit and veg...... also, drink a glass of water before every meal .... it's good for you and you'll feel fuller sooner. Eat your largest meal for the day when (well, just before) you are the most active. And, like Mimi said, try to stick to leaner meats .... you could try to have 'veggie days' too. What are your fav foods??? maybe we can all chip (sorry, bad word :o) in and give some tips on how to make it exciting .... as it can get boring ::)

Since my heaviest (in Feb/Mar this year), I have lost ummmm (it'll take me a while ... I hate maths :() nearly 5st (i say nearly, cos I put on a couple of lbs during my 'it's my birthday and i'm not paying attention to what i am doing days' ;D) Hoping to lose another stone before the end of January next year and hopefully, another half stone by the end of Feb next year ;D (I am sooo wishing hard right now ;D) Then I will reach my target ... and hope that i can maintain it ::)

Keep us updated and ask of us anything you want ... Good luck :-*
