Ally, why dont you apply for the passports on-line.You give all your details & the passport form comes with in about 4 days all filled in, all you need to do is sign it & send it off. 8) 8) 8)
Oh I didn't know you could do that! Would have saved me a lot of grief: for my 3 boys I had to fill each form in differently because one had to sign his own completely, one had to sign one bit but I had to sign another bit, and the 3rd didn't have to sign his at all! Got it all wrong on the first attempt, of course, and just had to start all over again. :(

Am also still !!!!!! that me fav trousers keep falling down >:(
Some people are never satisfied! ;D

Sounds like it's time for a new pair of favourite trousers! Imagine what I'm going to look like if I try wearing my favourite pair after losing the foot off my waist the BBC Fat Nation site says I need to lose! ;D ;D ;D

But on a serious note, it does get harder to lose weight as time goes by, because the rate at which you burn calories adjusts to the new lean you, and because any muscles you build weighs more than the fat it replaces.

Stay away from the scales for a bit, stop panicking, and use a tape measure a) to check your progress and b) to find out what size your new trousers need to be!

All the best and enjoy anticipating the holiday!

Has everyone (especially people on, or considering, Weight watchers) seen THIS?

The links to the weight watching tools are HERE (thanks to VJI6697). I haven't looked at them all but the weight progess chart looks good. Even when you have a bad week you can (hopefully) see your weight heading in a general downwards direction!

The recipe points converter looks good too.

Went on to the weight watchers website to see if I was the right weight for my height.
They said I could lose a STONE.
I am 34 years old, 5 foot 7, I have had 3 kids and also had a stroke.
    I weigh...
    Ten stone.

The moral of this? Be warned dont you think organisations like that telling ME that I could lose a stone are surely just in it for the money?

I dont generally struggle with weight, but I am finding half term (stress, rain, poorly daughter, toddler tantrums, sleeples nights...) has turned me into a snacky person. Some low fat AND cheap snacks are mini meringue nests at 14 calories each!!! and sauerkraut at a staggering 21 calories per 100 grams. (both from tescos)Luckily I love cabbage so that wil do for me as comfort food!

I have a friend who is a lot heavier than me, but her blood pressure is ABSOLUTELY FINE. Dont forget things like blood pressure and body fat percentage. Lots of chemists have machines which will measure body fat, weight and BP all in one go.

Crikey, that's very scary, I'm only an inch taller than you and if I went down to anything like that kind of weight I'd disappear!!!

The BBC Fat Nation site has a BMI checker which was scary enough for me, and they also suggest using your waist measurement as a guide to whether you need to lose weight or not.

For snacking, those Ryvita minis are very tasty, and I don't think I could eat a whole pack of them in one go because they're quite dry. Haven't checked how many calories, but they've got to be better than a packet of crisps ... haven't they?

Half-term's a disaster, isn't it? I've taken a couple of days off, first one today, woke up with a crashing headache so haven't done a lot as a result. Would have gone out for a walk if it hadn't been so wet. :(

I'm doing Slimming World and have lost 3 stone since April when we started this thread. I don't go to the club as I still had all the booklets from when I did it back in the early 90's, the only thing I did buy was a current food directory to get the up to date syn values for things.  One recipe that I do love is the syn free chips - go really well with a grilled chicken breasts and a tin of mushy peas ;D Good luck with it, I find it a really easy diet to stick to and if I do have anything I need to do I save up my syns and use as required.

Disappointed that after a couple of months of good progress and not putting too much weight on during my hols I am now putting it back on :'(

Unfortuately I gave all my slimming world stuff to a friend who now "can't find it" >:(
And I don't really want to go to the expense of joining again just to lose 7 or 8 lbs.

So will have to it from memory, or perhaps but a couple of the monthly mags. Failing that I will have to try to stick to mainly fish, chicken and lots of fruit and veg for the next few weeks...

Only 8 weeks to you know what - good luck to everyone in losing some more pounds before then ;)

Well, here comes another of my totally foolproof ways to lose weight!

Try falling flat on your face - and I do mean flat on your face - after tripping on a concrete edging strip you haven't seen in poor light. Best results will be obtained if you land on a patch of gravel, have a nosebleed, cut your upper lip inside and out, and bash your teeth a bit. Breaking a limb is not necessary and is best avoided, but a few grazes and bruises elsewhere are probably unavoidable!

My son assured those who came to my rescue that "She falls over a lot!" :o - untrue, I fell downstairs and sprained my ankle but that was 18 months ago!

He then proceeded to phone his Dad to come and pick us and the car up and said "She's quite badly hurt" ::) - also untrue, I was sure I hadn't broken anything, I was just a bit shook up! And even if it had been true, he didn't need to know that straight away, did he!

Anyway, I think eating is going to hurt a bit for a few days. :(
