You were both in the wrong, if this had lead to any sort of assault etc? You both would have ended up in serious trouble. It is road-rage pure and simple and courts take a hard line with this sort of crime.

But so long as you get out of court first, and get in the front as he pulls off........

I would NEVER stop for someone, regardless of them 'insisting'.

I do live in Birmingham though :rotfl: I just think its too risky! How easy would if be for him to get out and stab you and drive off

Personally, I think you bloody lucky!!!!!!

Ah but you don't stop for anyone remember, even if you hit their car in a car park.

I could have taken him down easy lol

I find this thread quite ironic, as you will now undoubtedly feel the wrath of numerous powerfully built internet hardmen who equally need the same sort of safety behind their computer screens.

I used to get a bit of red mist behind the wheel, I started doing a high mileage around central london and nationwide.

I can certainly handle myself and I would scare most people. However when someone does something stupid, I take a deep breath and then it does not bother me at all.

It's really satisfying to let people out or allow people to cross the road, most of the time it does not affect me as I can just adjust my speed or I'm approaching a red traffic light etc so it does not affect my journey time.

    I thoroughly recommend it
  • The one thing you must do when driving is keep some distance from other drivers at all times. Who cares if some argy bargy type is late for work? Plan your journey, know your route and any alternatives, in case of accidents /road works. If you have to use the moron box (Sat nav) make sure it is fully updated or you could get lost/stuck and in even more trouble. Keep a paper map handy, in case Sat nav blows up! Oh and one of my favorit ones is to blow a kiss at drivers of the same sex or just thank them. No need to do rude, I find it winds them up just as much. But if you can rise above it and keep calm.

Have to agree with much of what has been said here ...

You clearly consider yourself to be a tough guy and are proud of it, and no doubt the reason for your post was to brag at how in a confrontation, you stood up but he bottled it and ran off.

But maybe next time, the other driver will beat you to pulp or stick a knife in you ... Seriously, is it worth the risk just to prove your machoism?

Road rage - it really isn't worth the risk of getting involved!

Had an incident this morning where some numpty came hammering up the inside in a queue of traffic and then shoved his way into my lane. (damn turbo lag defeated me and he managed to get in.....)

Anyway I called him a few choice words and he was staring at me in his rear view mirror so I mouthed a few more choice words at him. He then started pointing over for me to pull over and get out the car. He flew into the next bus stop and stopped so I followed him, pulled in and took off my seatbelt.

So did the big bad man drag me out my car and beat me to a pulp???? No, he stuck his car into gear and hammered away into the distance.

What a pu$$y. Way I see it, you threaten someone, damn well carry out your threat.

I know I will now probably be flamed for enticing road rage, however just wanted to let those who think they are tough behind the wheel, if you signal someone to pull over then be prepared for them to actually do what you ask.

From where I see it, there's only one road rage numpty and that wasn't the other driver. He may well have been driving like a tool, but he played you perfectly after you got wound up and started the verbals like the big man you clearly see yourself as :)

OP - the best advice I can give you is that you should avoid getting into any potential road rage incidents like the one you have described to us - they can often lead to police involvement and may sometimes end up with someone injured or even dead - learn to turn the other cheek.
