What is the T-Mobile WiFi app?

The T-Mobile WiFi app gives you access to one of the UK’s biggest WiFi networks through our partner BT Openzone.

You can use over 200,000 hotspots when you’re out and about, and there’s a built-in WiFi hotspot finder. This lets you get the best possible internet connection, and saves your mobile internet allowance for when you really need it.

After you download it, the app automatically connects to BT Openzone WiFi, T-Mobile’s own hotspots or your home WiFi whenever they’re available. And you won’t need to remember passwords or login details.
    How do I get it?

If you’re on a pay monthly, You Fix or SIM-only plan with Standard, Extra or Super internet, or a Full Monty plan, you’ll automatically get access to T-Mobile WiFi and can download the T-Mobile WiFi app for free.

You can download it from Android Market, Apple App Store or BlackBerry App World™.

EDIT : Woops , thought you got onto it yesterday, perhaps your mobile number is the username / password ?

How do I find out my username and password for the T-Mobile WiFi service? You should have received a welcome text from T-Mobile with your login username and password details. However, if you have the T-Mobile WiFi app installed, you should connect automatically without needing to enter your details.

If you do need your details at any stage, you can text OPEN to 9526 to retrieve your username and password or PASSWORD to 9526 to reset your password.

I have Tmobile WiFi app on the "desktop"
I have the user name (my phone number) and password (I got this from texting OPEN to 9526) - but these fail to allow me to connect properly to my local BT OpenZone hotspot - it appears to be trying to connect (obtaining IP address) but on trying the internet - it is fixed to BT's homepage - implying that my logon details are incorrect ?

Once you load the app, goto the app settings and enter your username and password in the relevant fields, then once you have a wifi opezone/btfon service the app makes the connection and an icon appears in the notification, then you just use the browser etc as normal, you should not see the openzone login screen, this works on my ipod touch, xperia ray, htc wildfire, the only device I have to log in via the OZ screen is on my netbook.

Thanks - but this fails to work - I have put my log in details into "settings" - and am in a reasonably strong BTopenzone (and BTFon as well) signal strength area....
When I open the browser - When connecting using BT WiFi - I get BTOPENZONE homepage and that is it - no further browsing is available

Until the icon appears on your phonescreen the app is not running, I think there is an option in the app to "connect now" once the connection is established you will be able to browse fine.

No - when I open the browser, when connected to BT - I CANNOT browse away from BT homepage - where you are expected to login to continue (I even tried my Tmobile details - but these don't work - it appears to be looking for a BTopenzone login)

The BTFON icon (the purple fan) shows a connection - it is just that I cannot log in !!
