I would say about £4-4.50 but this clearly depends on your perspective.;)
I do hope you're telling the truth?

No, you agreed to pay £9 postage and packaging (1st class Recorded delivery). The seller didn't send via Recorded delivery so therefore that is 68p.

You agreed to a P+P price before you bid.
Although it should have been sent recorded if this was stated.
  • you agreed to pay the postage so you cant argue the amount

however id email the seller and say you are dissapointed they didnt send it recorded as stated. there isnt a lot of difference cost wise as said above so i dont think you should asko for money back

Funny how this forum, often a hive of self-righteous pomposity when it comes to eBay transactions, seems to have no problem with fraudulent postage. Hypocrisy is indeed alive and kicking here.

My advice: claim not to have received the item and then ask for the tracking number. If you don't feel happy doing that, leave a neg for excessive P&P.

It isn't excessive P&P if you've agreed to the costs by bidding.

What you are suggesting is fraud :naughty:

Report them for fee avoidance if you like... but this pompous poster suggests it would be polite to take your gripe to the seller first.

Edit: refunded £515 for TV 1.5 years out of warranty - thank you Sale of Goods Act! :j

Maybe a neutral for high postage charges or for not sending recorded but I can't see why a neg (#18) would be justified assuming the item was received in good time and as described.

I agree I might neutral on that score, but not neg.

Re the debate I've agreed to pay the P&P when bidding, but then the seller has agreed to Ebay's T&C that he isn't charging excessive P&P/fee avoidance (although I'm sure no-one has any sympathy with Ebay losing fee revenue). If P&P charge works out as double the actual rate including handling etc, then it is a bit naughty.

I can only guestimate the weight as a buyer & I bid according to the assumption that the charges appear to be reasonable, unless it's pretty obvious they're excessive - I couldn't tell in this instance.

I had no idea there was such a hard-line taken by some MSE posters on this subject. It strikes me as a bit inconsistent. Effectively the P&P is 'not as described' because it doesn't reflect fair costs, if it was the item that had been mis-described I think there would be a very different response - so why the inconsistency?
I do hope you're telling the truth?
