That's nothing :D In the past few days I've seen used nappies with actual poo stains! It's more of a "guess what my babies eaten in the past few days" game ;)

You know, actual nappies bother me an awful lot less.

Probably should point out it's not my babys poopy nappies I've been seeing either! :D

You can't out-nappy me, most of the ones I deal with don't even belong to children. ;)

Its not squeamishness that makes me find that game horrific, its more the idea of a bunch of adult women pretending they enjoy playing it, and the fact that poo jokes surely stop being funny around the time you start primary school?

Since I've had my son poo jokes have suddenly became very funny again... :o Suppose that says more about my life though.

Although I don't want a baby shower myself... I do love going to them as they are a nice social thing and personally I like to get and take a gift!

However, to those of you moaning about the idea of a baby shower... If you are of the opinion that you don't actually want to give a gift to the parents / baby then I would hazard a guess that you aren't that close and that the mum-to-be probably doesn't want you there anyway but felt they had to invite you or you would be left out... kind of like weddings... you are probably the distant relative who everyone runs away from who moans about the service/food/venue not being good enough/convenient for you and buys an onion slicer... or nothing at all that was only invited to keep the brides mum happy lol.

So put everyone out of their misery and politely decline the invite as you are busy that day already and then nobody’s feeling get hurt!

Obviously the above doesn't apply to the OP though because she has been more than generous!

Actually, we just prefer to take our gifts after the baby has arrived safe and well. If you read the actual posts you'd see that quite easily. ;)

    I have read the thread...

I think that you need to be less sensitive and realise that the psot was not aimed directly at YOU.

  • I think it's a bit of a shame there's no version for the dad (yes, i know he doesn't have to do as much, but he's about to loose his sleep/freedom also).

Kind of a tamed down stag party. No presents though. Maybe just a trip to the pub....

Like most posters on this thread, I would prefer to give a gift when the baby arrives. It's not about how close I am to the person. Your post is just daft.
