    Thriftwizard - that is amazing!

Blossomhill - the knitting may end up quite tactical. The blanket is taking longer than previous blankets and I will be glad to finish (it's lovely and warm on my shoulders!) It didn't help that the pattern and yarn for another sweater for me accidentally fell into the order :o:o:o:o:o but I wonder if I can use the sweater as a prompt - I can start it if I make up the old sweater and finish off the slipover? I don't know - I just really want things to go down.

This week has not been good - more has come in than gone out :( but not so much as could have come in.

I'll be starting again next Monday - taking blankets to the RSPCA charity shop in town. Or if not Monday, then some day relatively soon after!

    Good luck to all.

Managed to get another bag of clothes into the clothes bank at scouts' today - I'd already filled it, but actually managed to get the bag gone.

Went to town with DS1, lots of window shopping, but only bought what was needed, then came home for housework. I think I've said this already, but I do have more energy for un-richarding when I don't have to fight with housework to find the richards first... & this afternoon was lots of housework. I did look at the stuff on the fridge, threw away an incomplete water filter jug & put the 2 unused racks from the microwave in the new CS bag. Then added a bra from upstairs that doesn't fit properly, but I keep putting back in the drawer, grabbing in a hurry & wearing...

I currently have Errant Husband's old chest of drawers from when he still lived with us & my set had broken & they're not really big enough. I need to find another chest of drawers that I like & am prepared to pay for - which rules out affordable new ones, as they are build to last as long as a fashionable t shirt in a fashion concious person's house.

Ok, but you have still been more conscious of your consuming which is great:T:T You are not going to have it cracked in a few weeks. Habits take time to learn and you are learning them. And you still stopped as much coming in as might have done before:T.

Ooooops - took 4 more bags of fabric, yarn & notions off to the lady who's passing them onto the charity that takes them out to India :), and on the way back, stopped off at the tip with a bootload of cardboard... and somehow I seem to have acquired yet another spinning wheel  Well, it's in need of some TLC, which is what I do, then it'll be sold on in GWO, but I already have about 9 hanging around if I include my own two; two of those in need of attention too! Might have to put a couple more up on Ebay this weekend to make some space for this one, but I could no more refuse & let it go to landfill or one of the dealers (who will just want to make a quick buck from it, rather than restoring it to good working order - this is a useful & practical tool, not just a fireside ornament) than I can fly!

Oh dear... not sure whether it's a hoard, or just a horde of spinning wheels. Best I move some on fast, I think...

thriftwizard - pat yourself on the back... you deserve it!

I have 2 DD's who share a bedroom - when it was refurbed a few years ago they got rid of 2 decent MFI chest of drawers and replaced it with one new one from mFI - boy had their quality dropped! The old ones had held stuff for 15 years, the new on lasted 6 months, and was replaced with a proper chest of drawers that I found (it had to fit their colour scheme, though!)

They still don't have enough storage - I fully intend to finda naother chest of drawers to put in my room for the overspill...

I am going to have to get OH to do something about the wardrobe in our bedroom - 4 doors - half is full length hanging and half has drawers at the bottom. OH has 3/4 of the space, but it is full of stuff other than clothes - I can't hang his shirts up properly at the moment - there is so much stuff in the bottom of the wardrobe that they don't hang properly.....
    :jFlylady and proud of it:j

It's a rescue - just like a rescued puppy you'd clean up & train & then find a good home for... That's different from hoarding. Umm, as long as you do find them good homes...

Well done for the 4 bags & car boot load of cardboard!

I took 8 items of clothing to the CS today, but did come away with a few things. Half a dozen knitting needles,(£1) because I want to start knitting, a Lee Child book (but about 8 paperbacks will be going on Monday) and a rustic wooden tray (£1) which I want to shabby chic...:o will use it in the kitchen for veg/fruit. Honest.

Byatt well done for taking the things in - but 3 purchases is a lot for one visit, isn't it. If you bought 3 things on every visit ... just imagine ...maybe need to ask someone else to drop your donation in, or use a charity door-to-door bag?

I found I was buying things at boot sales when I was meant to be there selling ... so I just had to stop looking round, it was the only way I could restrain myself. At first it was like a physical pain, or an urge, I could hear all the things calling to me from stalls I couldn't see, and people were walking past with things I would have bought. But after a couple of weeks the stalls stopped calling and I can now walk round quite detached, almost as if I am out for some exercise, and just buy the fruit and veg we need

Enjoy the Lee Child, I love his books too, wouldn't you love to meet a real life Jack Reacher - ideal man even if he does kill people!:rotfl:

Yorkie Any chance you could fit sliding doors and a rack and rail system instead - really do make good use of space and sometimes better storage IS the answer

Can I join in on this thread please? I've only just found it and am finding it inspirational. Big hugs to JoJo and the other posters. I have a tendency to hoard things and so does my OH. I'm in the middle of having a big clear out at the moment though and have a full skip of junk outside as we speak. I'm having my house renovated next month by the local authority and was absolutely mortified when the woman from the council said they might not do the work if the house wasn't clear of clutter. Its not dirty at all just cluttered with stuff I hasten to add!!!!!!. Does anybody have any tips on how I can get my children ages, 14,12 and 6 and OH age 75 and not in the best of health to help me declutter the place though as I work full time and seem to be doing everything by myself!!!! I've also got until the second week in August to get rid of all the junk which is when the renovations begin!!!!. I'm fortunate that I only work in term time and so have a couple of weeks off before the work begins but I'm still worried I want it to be nice and tidy and to have a nice house to live in but they just won't help me which is really upsetting. Its not helped either by the fact that I don't drive so can't just take things to the charity shop. Any help/support/suggestions/advice would be very much appreciated.
loobylou2.Proud to be dealing with my debts and aiming to sort out the mess in 2013!!!!
