Yesterday I was grumpy. DH was very unwilling to help with wrapping presents etc. Then had the cheek to say the Morrison's advert makes him laugh. I did get a sorry out of him eventually.
This morning, we have got rid of all the recycling (including all the lovely useful boxes that the Xmas cards came in, and the thin card that housed wrapping paper).
Cards are all written and have gone in the post. Family cards all distributed too.
House feels like it can breathe again.:heartsmil When you find people who not only tolerate your quirks but celebrate them with glad cries of "Me too!" be sure to cherish them. Because these weirdos are your true family.0 -
Hi Byatt, so nice to see you back, albeit with not such good news; as its a long story you may already have this covered, but from what you've mentioend before it sounds like DD is a vulnerable adult in which case THIS might be helpful, applies to vulnerable adults as well as elderly ones. I worked with vulnerable adults for several years and know how easy it is for the wrong person to convince them that they are the right person, even to the extent of marrying them to get their benefits, so you may be best just tipping off those who are trained for such situations and standing back for a while. It's hard though.
Thanks everyone for your recent support, my big mistake was touching the sleeve of the coat, couldn't shake off how it used to feel to put my arm round mum or walk arm in arm but its going off now. Strangely I didn't feel any need to buy it back, I knew it was just an empty coat.
I have thrown myself into turning it into positive (hyper) energy and have dismantled the broken bed (while cats sat on it refusing to let it go), arranged bulk rubbish collection, been to the carpet shop to order new bedroom carpet (well the room is almost empty at the moment) for before the new bed arrives and am eyeing up the 15year old wallpaper and the paper steamer ... hmm. I'd already told the decorator I'd need him in the new year but it seems a shame to steam the new bed ... oh and I took up the oldish carpet and put it on freecycle for allotmenteers
Mum and I both had the same dinner service, she got hers new, I saw mine 2nd hand and it was handy to have 16 place settings between us once upon a time. Once our family started shrinking I quietly sold mine and didn't tell her, as I knew I would inherit her 8 places. I don't actually like it as it doesn't stack neatly but having trouble getting rid of it, no takers on china match or freecycle group and there is laods of it with 0 bid on eBy
After recycling gets collected tomorrow I start my recycling amnesty - 2 weeks off - as whether I do it 50 weeks of the year or 52 makes no difference in the grand scheme of things and it's a big relief just to chuck stuff in the bin without anguishing over it for my Christmas treat - and I reckon I am well in credit for the amount of repurposing I do!
I've also binned the newspapers I'd kept of 911 - what was I thinking? You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -
Glad it is easing a bit Blossomhill. And well done for using the energy surge so productively.:T
I'm delighted to say I got a car load to the dump this afternoon:j. It was so full in the car there was no room for DH to come and help the other end and I had great difficulty in changing gear as it's a small car and we had a large broken down wardrobe in there, plus broken small electical items. Fortunately there were vey helpful chaps working at the dump who helped me with the heavy stuff.
I've just got a small load of my 'spare bits of handy wood' hording to go perhaps tomorrow on the way to work.
I item cllected for freecyle, another due to be taken wednesday, and just one person requested 3rd item but they have not got back to me with pick up time.
I have a week off between xmas and new year that DH doesn't so at present I am planning to tackle the attic again then. Particularly my very large box of old course notes.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -
Byatt
Sending (((hugs))) and best wishes. My DS did this to me a few years ago.
Take care, stay strong, you will get through this xx0 -
Thanks BH, her support are already involved, since Friday, but today, it's reached a state where she has totally abandoned me, autism or no, it's really hard for me and I am inconsolable.
Picklepot I am sorry you have experienced this. xx
I really must have done something terrible in this life, been a bad person because it's one thing after another, and I can't deal with anymore. I don't know what to do right.0 -
I took a load of stuff to the CS today and only bought one item, a book, for my Xmas read. Despite spying some Ma$on and Ca$h kitchen item.
Almost there now, almost...0 -
Byatt I dont know how to PM you.. but dont know if you would want that..sorry dont mean to sound intrusive. Just know some of the pain you are in.
You have not done anything terrible in this life to deserve this..they do not realise the pain they cause because they cannot see others point of view.It doesnt stop the devastating feeling it gives you . Often i felt i was unable to function.
Have you someone you can confide in??0 -

Look around the world. Bad things happen to good people and plenty of good things happen to truly awful people. No one is marking your scorecard in this life and doling out ration of good or bad breaks based on your behaviour. The religious may argue that we'll have to make a reckoning in the next world but that cuts no mustard with an atheist like me.
!!!! happens. And it happens to decent and loving and kind people, people just like you. You didn't cause it, deserve it, incite it or ask for it. It just happens, and it hurts like hell but there's nothing to be done some days but to cry, stoke up the stove and believe that tomorrow will be a better day, and that the world will turn as it should, that we're days away from solstice and the days will start lenghtening and we will all get past the crisis.
Sending you all good wishes, hun. GQ xxEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Hi PH, you click on my name and it says, send message...I was going to PM you, but couldn't.
I see my counsellor on Thursday, poor woman, the last time I saw her I was wearing some makeup and really happy, this time I am going to burst into tears before I get through the door.
I can't help thinking I must be a wicked person, but just not aware of it.
But, tomorrow is another day.
Edit, Thanks GQ, yep lots of negative thoughts, will put on my armour tomorrow and start again. Thanks for the pep talk and hugs. Sorry for being a misery. xx0 -
My grand minimalism plan is falling by the wayside
I'm tempted to buy, buy, buy. Luckily I haven't really been doing so!
Is far too humongous a task to even get the house 'sorted' enough for Christmas at the moment.
I'm overwhelmed again and ignoring things! No more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. INS: lost count, naughty step for me! UU: 80
