Oh dear, I tried to get on MSE yesterday and it was down. So I ended up ordering some glasses frames to try before I buy. That will be another expensive purchase coming up.

I have loadsa hedgehogs, but do not see them that often. Do you think you might have any? Do you ever see squished ones on roads in your area?
No, haven't seen one for decades, only badgers, foxes, squirrels. Sort of good news/bads news really

I know the droppings and don't get them either

I tried to adopt one of the Herbridean ones (or two) but was told they needed 10 gardens either side to me with similar hedgehog friendliness (gaps under fences etc) and we just don't have that

I'd love feral cats too, am trying to declutter a specific area of the garden so it can be converted into a feral-cat-taming-prior-to-adoption enclosure

I seem to be very clear-headed about paperwork today and making great strides, it goes in phases doesn't it - things that would have floored me before (such as "is the AA "car" or "insurance", can't decide, so don't know where to file it) are seeming very straightforward (it's insurance)
You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow
  • Just got to wait for any side effects to show up - but I have noticed, for once in my life, I've been prescribed something that doesn't list weight gain and facial hair growth as a common side effect
Probably a drug developed by a woman then! Good luck with these JoJo

We have caught ferals twice. Both times showed no cat aids and evidence of neutering ( we think they were pets of the previous farmer in our house who just abandoned them here :() so I hope not to have to again, catching them is very stressful and they are welcome here and by my neighbouring farmer too (if only I could get the, to put something other than milk out though, still, the ferals have done very well on the demon milk). one died and we buried her below an oak tree.

Suddenly we have a to do list as long as my arms, both of them. This weekend is getting a bit daunting tbh.
  • Just bobbing in to say hi and hugs and hope all goes well, Jojo

Not doing so well re hoarding, to be honest. However I have stalled before, got back up, and it keeps getting slightly better. I now have a dishwasher. This means I have to fight the urge to hoard dishwasher tablets. I have never had a dishwasher before, and I am watching it carefully.

I am getting rid of an old combi slow cooker/steamer/rice cooker. Only the rice cooker part was working and I now have a microwave rice cooker that actually works very well. Not only does the plastic thingy work really well but I can put it in my notoriously damp cupboards where electricals can't go and it is much smaller. I can see me using it a lot.

Now I need to make sure that I don't bulk buy rice. I said airily to OH, 'we can get a sack from Makro.' Well, we could, but if I can help it we won't - it is entirely unnecessary and not necessarily the best idea as supermarkets often have really good deals on plain rice or value/basics/everyday rice.

I am dipping in and out, and find the posts really inspiring. re tv - we got a flat screen when little bear was toddling and started trying to tug the tv forward, no matter how far back we pushed it. I insisted, we got something lighter that could be pushed further back and a few months later it was in the news that a toddler was killed by an old style tv falling on them. A flat screen can do a lot of damage, but an old style could do more.

Not sure what to do with the dish drainer I no longer need, nor what to do with the old, fold out z bed, which is a bit flattened. Dish drainer will probably go to a charity shop as it is nearly new. I am not sure about the z bed. I may wait until after winter has passed, in case both me and little bear need to sleep downstairs near the fire.

    hugs to all

I have spent the last couple of hours sorting out some work paperwork into their appropriate files and updating a spreadsheet so I can keep tabs on what else I need to do.

This was a long overdue job, so I am feeling a lot better for having nearly finished it.

Haven't heard from Her since. So She doesn't seem that keen to keep in touch when she can't get something from me.

My sister says she'll get in touch when she hears something via the favoured brother. But my sister's keeping fairly clear as when she replaced the nasty chipped, stained and mismatched crockery she threw away with a brand new quite good quality set (having agreed it with Her in advance), there was a tiny green leaf in the floral pattern. So rather than say thank you, She wailed 'It's GREEN. There's GREEN on it. I HATE GREEN'. Like plants don't have green bits.

The "I hate green" issue is something I'm not unfamiliar with. Don't really want to say any more about it but it hit a nerve concerning someone I know.

In an almost certainly unrelated issue... there is a thing a MIL's house that pees me off every single time we visit. We bought them a gift 10 years ago, it's still got the tag on and has never been used and sits in a pot next to the front door (where MIL puts all the stuff that's going to be recycled or taken to charity). There it sits and has done since the day we gave it to her, I'm not fully sure it ever made it into the house proper or the garden where it's meant to live.

I don't know why it annoys me, I think it's just a "paint or get off the ladder" thing, either get rid of it or use it but don't just keep it shoved in that pot letting us know that you'd rather not have it but won't get rid because that would be rude.

I hope you don't have awful side effects Jo-Jo. :A

Hiya Sybil, how are you feeling health wise? :A

On my way to a cat sitting gig this morning I came across a run over badger and a tiny, tiny hedgehog. It's carnage on the country roads first thing. :(

Well, I am going into the kitchen...I may be some time.:cool::o

I decluttered an oven glove last night by setting fire to it.

I wish I could do spreadsheets, it's the kind of thing I know I would enjoy if I could just understand how to do it.
