So the house MUST be good by then, as I have no idea how I am going to react to the meds - but I usually react badly, so am planning for the worst (and hoping to be pleasantly surprised by getting my life back for the first time in years).
However, in good news, I have now finished paying off two loans. So I am £80-odd the richer from now on. :j:
Re the meds - if you have a choice, try and start on a day (given you will take them the same day every week) when extra fatigue for the next 1-2 days will matter least. For some that will be Friday eve to beable to cope with work by Monday, but for you, perhaps avoid the nights when you like to gig most?
Most people who get a overwhelming fatigue reaction find it is the 1st 24/48 hrs that are the worst.
Today I am going to try and do some paperwork filing...

Tell me I'm allowed to just throw it out?

Observation from this week: Bought 2 books.
I have 4 yards (3.75m) of books already in the house.
Which books are read first? The newest.

Jo Jo what medication is it if you don't mind me asking? Only I'm on a once a week scary med that can be injected- I wonder if it's the same so I can advise/share my experiences?Have nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Hi all,
I want a baby, I can totally relate to the concept of living a poorer life than you need to - my OH and I earn a good wage but are saving for a house so I scrimp and save on the every day things, then I resent it so have a massive splurge. I need to learn moderation.
TBH, am really struggling a. for motivation at the moment and b. with the food hoard. Having done an inventory of the freezer and started to use up the contents I have added to it again and just done an Ocado order which included some freezer items.
I found myself getting panicky at the thought of running down the freezers but I really have no idea why? My parents were certainly not well off and I remember lots of cheap food but I certainly don't remember ever going hungry or not having enough to eat.
So why this need to hoard food as a comfort blanket? Really need to get to the bottom of it as just acknowledging there is a problem is not helping me deal with it.
Val, it's really hard to throw something out when it sort of works isn't it? We still have our old toaster as OH doesn't really like the new toaster but the old toaster used to take ages which is why we replaced it. Really need a new 4-slice dual control toaster which is quick (OH is very impatient when it comes to toast!) then we can bin both.0 -

Methotrexate. Mostly for longstanding, middle of the road RA with a side order of almost every autoimmune/inflammatory screwup you can get.
Dexamethasone isn't really doing the trick for me anymore, and I've had pretty bad reactions to everything else that's been tried, so it's off to the realms of having my own personal sharps bin and hoping it works.
I'm vaguely worried about hairloss, I had that quite badly with another med which didn't have such a high risk of it happening. Which is why I've dyed it all bright red whilst I canand have a bunch of various scarves and hats on standby.
And it's a long time since I had short hair - my ears could get cold!
I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
Jo jo! Snap! I am on methotrexate for Crohns disease. I'm on 15mg orally a week - I was on 25mg a week up until Feb when they lowered my dose. I wont lie- the first couple of months were pretty minging- headaches, nausea, hairloss. The hairloss was never significant enough for anyone except me to notice. I hated the drugs at first but they have absolutely changed my life. I have only had one flare up since being on it and I had bad symptoms constantly before - painful joints, mouth ulcers, thrush to name a few. These are all under control now and I'm HOPING after my consultant appt on 17th of this month I *may* be able to come off it ( been on it for 18 months)
my best advice would be check what else you can't take with it - there's loads - ibuprofen, diclofenac, alka seltzers, lots of antibiotics, aspirin to name a few off the top of my head. It makes me very headachy and nauseus the day after- my husband does the school run and I have a gentle morning- I take it on Wednesday as I don't start work til 5 pm Thursday and with 4 kids it's daft to take it Friday or saturday night and ruin my family time!
Feel free to ask me any more questions you have here or PM xHave nothing in your house that you do not know to be useful or believe to be beautiful.

Just a couple of passing thoughts on the food front :-
1) have you ever been a dieter or accidnetally or conciously gone without meals for any length of time (no need to answer on here, just one for you to think about) - I am just wondering if you could have triggered a starvation response without realising it
2) would filling the freezer with a simple product like bread help - when you use up a joint of meat replace it with a loaf of bread so it is still "full" until you get the meals down to a reasonable stash? You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

Okay, it's in the bin. And I dropped some potato peelings on it in case I changed my mind.:A
Now I just have to find the box for it (in the attic) and the instructions (for a toaster?????) which will be in the highly "useful" but totally ignored Instruction File I expect. And throw them out. After all, I've got to make room for the new box and instructions, no? :rotfl: (At least for a few weeks in case I need to take it back.)
I had an hour to kill today in an odd part of town for me so went for a snoop round the local CHs and Waitrose. Bought nothing in the CHs but fell foul of two aspirational mags in Waitrose, though at least I managed to resist a pot of ready cooked rice (!) and one of tomato pasta sauce (!!) that were on offer.
Tomorrow though I am giving away not one but TWO sewing machines. My newest but least loved machine, a relatively new electric Brother, is going to the 17 yr old daughter of a friend and one of the hand cranked Singers is going to DD's best pal as a birthday present. Also a box of fabric and notions and thread.Val.0 -
