Well sinc 'probably won't. Means never will, I'd say bin! Bin! Bin! Unless you have an immediate wrapping situation to make use of it (I've seen OH try to do this, yet I'm the hoarder!!! I'm beginning to think I'm not really a hoarder just too frivolous a spender! However as much as there are may items I find easy to get rid of, there are equally as many I find difficult to get rid of!).No more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. I've folded it up really small in my damp mitts. Yes, it is spoiled now and can go into the recycling bag, which will prevent the Waste Demons from hunting me down and torturing me whilst I sleep. And tomorrow I shall go to the recycling bank and then all will be well with the world.
I shall have a celebratory cuppa. Thank you!:DEvery increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

Bloke once told me about his old Mum (in her eighties) who had 3 of her 4 bedrooms stuffed floor to ceiling and side to side with everything her 4 boys had ever worn. And, as he told me in utter exasperation, they were all in their forties and fifties and she'd kept the lot
Well done GQ - sometimes I have to destroy things to save them from me - but next time, give the old lady the paper! I have cleared homes of two relatives who could in fact have papered their entire homes with all the saved used wrapping paper that outlived them
I've got a friend coming to help me with some kitchen jobs tomorrow that I can't reach, but I have been defeated by the heat today and haven't been able to tidy up, so they will see my home in all its messy glory - oh well, they wouldn't be coming if I didn't need their help! I just wont tell them that it used to be even worse ...You never know how far-reaching something good, that you may do or say today, may affect the lives of others tomorrow0 -

Nobody seems to want the books - I tried taking them to the local Charity shop but they have too many so don't want mine. ha ha! My mother in law once gave me a pair of white sheets and she said that she had had them since just after the second world war.
They stank of mothballs and were yellow with age so I gave them a wash (as you do) and took them out of the washing machine full of holes.
It gave me a laugh anyway.0 -
I do. Own a crocheted cover my mum made and I used on my bed as a girl (maybe aged 5ish. I will be 36 later this yr). However it's probably the oldest and only childhood object I own (except photographs) and it is still in excellent condition. You would never know it is around 30yrs old and in the winter youngest dd uses it on her bed.No more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. Mar 2014. INS: lost count, naughty step for me! Cherie, my parents married in the very early 1960s and Dad had a wedding suit of woollen cloth which he kept. His weight would fluctuate a bit and sometimes he'd fit it, and sometimes he wouldn't. It was very seldom worn and was in excellent condition, or so we thought.
Mum's wardrobe in their fitted bedroom had overflowed into Dad's wardrobe and the door had been blocked for a long time with boxes and bags of Mum's clothes. One day when I was visiting the Dejunking Fairy waved her wand over Mum and we decided to tackle the bedroom.
When we got into Dad's wardrobe, we discovered that the suit trousers had slid off the hanger and into the kipple on the floor inside. Picked them up and both burst out laughing.........the crotch of them was eaten away by moths as if someone had shot thru it at close range with a shotgun.
We saved it to show Dad to justify chucking it but honestly, what a waste of time storing that suit for nearly 50 years and moving it to 3 different homes. It could have been released to serve some other bloke a good turn and instead it ended up as dinner for the pesky clothes moth larvae.
Mum sold her wedding dress a few weeks after the wedding and I finished up her natty little going away skirt suit as separates in my teens.Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

The paper did have a purpose. To wrap the flowers.
So you didn't save it for repurposing, really, did you? You * sort of * stopped the paper from having a purpose and thereby turned it into rubbish.
So next time, could you leave the flowers as they are and let the wrapping have its purpose rather than taking it away and turning it into garbage?I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -

Your local charity shop probably doesn't have the capacity for a lot of books, so do try Oxfam."Be the type of woman that when you get out of bed in the morning, the devil says 'Oh crap. She's up.'

I have been lurking round this thread for awhile and wanted to just say hi and well done to you all for making such strides forward.
I used to collect a certain range of toys and had literally a few thousand items. Lots were stored neatly on shelves but then there was boxes and boxes of them. I did love them but tbh it all became rather overwhelming and claustrophobic. It was a tough decision to sell it all and it took ages (I still have three plastic tubs of bits left to finish sorting) but was also incredibly liberating.
I am a reformed character I think and have slowly over time managed to get into better habits. Just routinely filling up a bag for charity or sending things over to friends and family (things they will genuinely like BTW not just anything) and having a mad ebay listing spell a few times a year makes such a difference.
In fact on that note we have been clearing through things today. I can see another big ebay spell being needed as have a stack of my DDs outgrown clothes and shoes. It is nice being able to get good money for things like that because as it all only last year's stuff it tends to sell wellthen you have some money for the next lot.
Hugs x0
