Just chucked 5 old cleaning cloths from bathroom cupboard: now I have converted to microfibre cloths and have a cleaning sytem in place that is now an established habit after 6 weeks, that is all I need in there.
I also had 3 old washing up bowls in the cupboard and got rid of one of them (used for soaking clothes/floor cleaning etc).
Now sorting through kitchen cupboard baking and oddments supplies and lots more chucking going on.
We are thinking of upgrading from one lodger to two so I need to get even more ruthless and organised to see if this would be workable. 3 'households' in one small kitchen...the challenge is on.
Definitely staying indoors in this heat.I try to take one day at a time, but sometimes several days attack me at once0 -

Haven't got one to blame, unfortunately.
Parents used to have a cat whose most favourite thing ever was if he could find a pea which had landed on the floor and dried out unnoticed, and then he'd bat it about like a hockey puck, for ages. My family have rescue cats and they're all a bit daft and every single one of them has been terrified of bought cat toys of whatever description, but they make their own fun.Often with small furry or feathery things, unfortunately. At least I don't have to play Hunt the Dead and Stinky Thing in the corners of my flat.
Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.

GQ: I'd still blame a cat.:D
Microfibre cloths. How the heck do you get them clean? Ours get used for cleaning specs, monitors and TV screens so have to stay grit free. So far, I've soaked them in hot water and applied washing up liquid and subjected them to several rinses.‘Keep your eye on the donut and not on the hole.’ David Lynch.

Mine tend to go in the WM as well. No fabric conditioner, just in a hot wash with the towels. That is when I actually use them instead of kitchen roll.
I started masking up two small walls. In the end, I've first coated two and the staircase panels. Seeing as my tester sheet turned out looking green, which wasn't my plan at all, I was quite relieved (although still a little surprised) to find the paint turned into a chalky blue with a teal undertone once it hit the walls.
I took a quick before shot with my phone and I'll try and get it up here with an after once I've second coated.
But as I spent the heat of the day indoors with a paintbrush and a snoring cat under the table, not noticing when I shoved her and the table back so I could get to the wall, I think I might stuff my face with Haddock n chips and a large bottle of Diet Coke tonight.
If I can stay awake that long.I could dream to wide extremes, I could do or die: I could yawn and be withdrawn and watch the world go by.Yup you are officially Rock n Roll0 -
There's a dog show locally tomorrow much closer to me than the local dogs' home (I don't have a car, only a bicycle). So I phoned the dogs' home and they said they would welcome 'stuff' that they could use on the tombola or for their shop. So this evening I will be sorting through the good stuff and bagging it up ready to go out of the house to the dog show tomorrow morning :j. The dogs' home is one of my favourite charities so I'm doubly happy to a) be getting stuff out of the house and b) to be giving to such a worthwhile cause. Is it odd to be excited by this?
All I have to do tomorrow is not be tempted to buy anything whilst I'm at the dog show ....Aspire not to have more but to be more.

Lol, no peas in this house get the chance to dry out, one of cats loves eating peas and sweetcorn, odd thing!
We have had a lot of small furry things brought in recently (usually at 5.30 in the morning ) but thanks to the fact that underneath the bed is still almost clutter free after we deep cleaned our bedroom we are able to see and get to them before we have to play That Game :T
Have started on the larder - it's going to be a work in progress and no way can I completely finish it this weekend but, as someone said earlier on the thread, you can't eat the whole elephantand I have made a really good start.
Have just chucked out a packet of gelatine with a BBE of 2009 - I have no idea why I bought it :cool:0 -
Got rid of 2 pairs of shoes today to the CS, but did get a jumper & 4 biggles books... I also bought a piece of material & thread to line a bag I'm making from the yarn stash, but resisted all the remnants & reduced yarn. DS1 just pulled lots of stuff out of DS2's cupboard to find where DS2 had hidden Errant Husbands fathers day gift from DS1, so I've pulled out all the junk soft toys (got from jumble sales, washed, dried & never used) & some clothes that are still way too big for DS2 so they're on their way out now.0

Had a conversation today with my boss where she admitted she is a hoarder. Her boys are 16and 17 and she has kept clothes from when they were babies but not even just a 'first outfit' but things like jackets age 6-9mths and stuff!
It will all be neat and tidy and hidden away though as she is very tidy and organised
She also admits to having an obsession with cleaning products! Despite the fact that she temporarily helped out her sister and her husband who run a cleaning company and during that she used a bucket of warm soapy water to clean everything! No more unnecessary toiletries Feb 2014 INS: 24 UU: 13. And, as he told me in utter exasperation, they were all in their forties and fifties and she'd kept the lot.
Ladies (and any gentlemen present) I need a little handholding across the interweb.
Before I go any further, I should explain that I have always had A Bit of a Thing about thick brown wrapping paper.
Today I treated friend and neighbour SuperGran to a bunch of flowers. As she wasn't home when I bought them back and wouldn't be back for hours, I took them out of a large sheet of red paper which, when turned over, was actually BROWN WRAPPING PAPER. I put the flowers in water in their cellophane wrapper and left her a voicemail and she popped over to get them this evening and I handed them over in the cellophane and now I have the paper.
I want it. I probably won't ever use it. I have form for hoarding attractive paper which might just be repurposed.
Can someone give me a kick up the arris pls?
On a positive note, I tackled a big lever arch file full of important stuff which was overfull and which I figured I'd have to split into 2 separate files and I found some bits of stuff in there which could be dejunked and there is now room and to spare. Losing about 1 lb of paperwork which is a stack over an inch thick. Happiness..............:rotfl:Every increased possession loads us with a new weariness.
