I have the Galaxy S 1 (I900) which I pay £9.85p (incl VAT) per month. Only 9 months into an 18 month contract with Vodafone which gives - 300 mins; unlimited text and 500mb data + gave me the phone for free at the start. Cannot beat that :j Great Phone, would not change it for nowt!:T:T:rotfl::rotfl:As MSE might say 'ditch and switch'2.5 kWp PV system, SSW facing, 45 Deg Roof. ABB Inverter, Monitor: 'Wattson'.
Reg. for FIT Nov 2011. "It's not what you generate; it's how you use it that matters". One very clean Vauxhall Diesel Sri, £30.00 Road Tax:
Definition of 'O's = kWh/kWp (kWh = your daily & accurate Generation figure) (kWp = the rated output of your PV Panels).0 -
Discounts and deals offered by Retentions are not fixed. They have a budget and staff are told what hey can offer. When e budget limit is reached, tha is it. The deals offered depend on when in the month you ask, so one week someone will get the offer you seek, whilst another will not.
But if you ask to leave because the deal you want is not offered, you cannot plead for it to be changed.0 -
as buzby said if theyre not offering it u cant make them give it you a dndont so much like about other networks do some research get a good price and try and get them to match itWhat goes around-comes around0

Thanks for all the advice guys, I really appreciate it. I have just got off the phone to 3 now, I told the man that Vodafone had offered me the same deal for the Samsung Galaxy S3, for £27 instead of £34 and he basically shot me down. He told me that there is no other mobile company in the UK that is offering that amount of minutes, texts and data for less than £34. He said that the source I got it from must have been an unreliable one, when I said that been told that by a Vodafone representative on the phone he told me that he must have been mistaken. The man that dealt with me was genuinely aggressive and tried to interrupt me as much as he could. I am stuck as to what to do now, I have found out that lying to 3 isn't the best idea as they can verify all UK mobile deals in a matter of seconds! After telling him I wanted to leave, he said the disconnections line is currently down and will be for the next two hours....0

I finally got my PAC from them after 6 calls, i cant believe how hard it was to get it, threatening them with OFCOM and watchdog didn't even work
They did try offering me a so called deal but when i told them about a deal carphone warehouse was doing on the HTC one s, i was told i was lying, i told him to look on there website but he wouldn't0 -
I'm assuming you're after the One Plan, will you be using all those minutes & texts?
If it's their "all you can eat" data you want, it might be worth reading these threads:

3 mobile misleading customers with "all you can eat data"0 -
I called a second time this evening and altered my tactic. Instead of lying, I told the woman that I genuinely couldn't afford £34 and I wanted to leave. So she put me through to customer retention and the man offered me 5000 texts, all you can eat data, 500 minutes for £32. I was still unhappy with that deal as 500 minutes would be not enough for me. They were incredibly stubborn and would not budge from this deal. If they had a deal for around £27-28 with a substantial amount of minutes, texts and data, I would be delighted!
Vending Expert, I dread to think how many calls it will take for me to get my PAC code if I decide to leave, and Bunberry, thank you for the advice, I will keep that in mind.0 -
Whenever I used to try to lower my contract deal I just used to say "this" is what I am willing to pay, "this" is what I want deal wise and I want a phone that can do x,y and x. I'd mention a few handsets and often they'd suggest other types to me. If they threw a suggestion at me I'd say I needed to research it and they would need to call me back the next day.
It worked the first time, sadly the second time they lied, told me about a brand new LG handset which looked great when I researched it. They sent me the wrong phone then told me if I sent it back they'd charge me the whole amount of the 18 month contract for doing so. I tried to complain but they said previous calls to them were lost so what I said stood for nothing. I wasn't so commercially aware back then and ended up with what turned out to be a faulty handset. The only upside of that was that for about 6 months I went without a phone, 4 of those were refunded for because the handset was faulty. I got so used to not having a phone that I still don't have one now getting on for 2 years later!
Beware of 3!0 -
Just got off the phone from their "options" team which used to be the department that had some discretion over offering deals.
I started off by saying I was disappointed at being lied to when i rang up to cancel last week - I was given a speech all about how valued a customer I was and how they would waive the £200 handset cost that new customers are charged. Except that's a lie because the handset is free anyway. This sales person just repeated the same lie.
There was no sign of budging over the £34/month S3 Galaxy that is available to all on their website. I asked to cancel lots of times and eventually said I was going to take a cashback deal with o2. This upset him and I got to hear lots about Three customers regretting leaving and begging to come back - it was pathetic. Eventually I got my PAC code but was again warned about other networks and how they'll "charge back the handset cost two-three months into the contract".
It's the same every time I come to upgrade and I'll just play the waiting game. I must admit though, I don't have a good feeling about getting a good low-cost deal this time around.0 -
^^^ Ha Ha been on to them today about the galaxy s3 what a waste of time, they also mentioned the charge back if you go with another company.
they also mentioned that they make the best deal and wont budge on price.
Obvious they dont care about existing customers just getting new ones in.
Waste of time !0
