Lying when upgrading on 3 Mobile
Options
Hi Guys,
I am currently a customer on 3 mobile, I pay £27 per month which I can afford and I am happy paying. I am about to enter into the final 30 days of my contract where 3 say customers can get the best deals. I have my eye on a deal for the Samsung Galaxy S3 which costs £34 per month, but I would like to pay a bit less for this deal, I have read Martin's guide to upgrading and getting through to the 'Customer Retention Department'. I was just wondering if telling an out-and-out lie would be of any help to me, saying that Vodafone, for example, have offered me the same deal for the price I am currently paying. Would this be a helpful tactic when upgrading or just be a mere hindrance?
Thanks guys

Its definitely worth a try im trying to get the same phone on there one plan for £25.00 a month but there not moving they will only do £34.00.
Im ment to be getting a £10.00 a month loyalty discount so i have asked them for my PAC code, i will see if they get back to me with a better deal if not i will move over to GiffGaf0 -
They know what deals are available from other providers - what will you say when they ask for proof?0

Thanks mate
I will definitely give it a try then, but I do hope they aren't as stubborn with me, but if they do refuse I will just ask them for the PAC code and employ the same tactic as you.

Mynameistallulah, that is what I was afraid of. This makes me somewhat skeptical of lying to them. Should I just say that I cannot afford this, and as a loyal customer I should be entitled to some discount?0

I think asking for your PAC is the only way you can get any where with them to be honest0

When I do contact them, if all was to go badly, I would definitely ask for the PAC code and wait for a call back. Although, that would be a last resort. I just hope it doesn't come to that as I have been a customer for more than two years and I have heard of many others receiving discount due to the fact that they have been loyal customers.0

I dont think they care about customer loyalty any more, iv been with them 5 years, im currently on the one plan sim only @ £15.00 a month, my contract run out 2 months ago but i was happy with it just rolling on each month until i lost my signal in my house.
I phoned up about an upgrade if they would give me a signal booster box and told them i want an S3 on the same plan im on for £25.00 a month, they said they cant give me my loyalty discount because they will be doing me a favor already by giving me a signal......they are an absolute joke, i have spent the last 3 days trying to get my PAC, they keep fobbing me off every time i phone0 -
That is awful customer service, doing you a favour by giving you signal? You are paying £15 per month for that signal! I have heard many stories about bad customer service at 3 although in my experience I have never had a problem. I am now fairly nervous about this phonecall I have to make!0
