How is it negative saying they can use me to THEIR best advantage, or that I have had dealings with the company, worked in the industry for 20 year, have dealt with them as a customer & can do the job with my eyes shut.

sorry if I'm wrong but this didn't get you the job last time so what makes you think you will interview better this time?

I really don't understand the negativity on here. I think LadyMissA has been very courageous to apply again. A lot of people wouldn't have bothered, but she put herself out there. What has she got to lose?

And this business about the public transport.. I can't drive, so I only ever use PT & never has it been frowned upon. I make it very clear to employers that I will be catching buses to work, but I always allow for any delays (& usually get there 30 minutes early! Lol). There's no point telling someone that you're home is 15 mins drive away if you can't drive! Lol. Honestly, when they voice their concerns about PT, I tell them that I use it a lot & know the bus routes like the back of my hand. My last job, I spent an 90 mins travelling each way!

I wish you the best of luck LadyMissA.

I think it's excellent - you are misinterpreting the comments. I just think that she comes across as downbeat and negative when what they are probably looking for is enthusiasm and a keenness to work for them.

I do wish her every luck in getting it.
If you haven't got it - please don't flaunt it. TIA.

I would apply 18 months, is a long time ago and they may well have had a staff turnaround in the HR dept. If it was a couple of months ago I would say no but 18 months is ages ago,

At evey interview I have had I have always been keen. I know all about the company and knew stuff at the interview about the company buying another in the same industry and the FC asked me how I knew that. Well if you have worked in the industry and know other companies that are for sale and know they have been recently taken over it's not hard to know whats going on. I read publications like the Caterer, Big Hospitality and Decanter etc so I am in touch with the industry.

I have just heard back from them re my follow up email and they said they are not going to look at CV's untll the 19th and have had over 50 people apply and will get back to me some time on or after the 19th.

Since I have sent them a really downbeat and negative cover letter telling them how I didn't really want the job, want to work with them, hate the industry etc I only except a 'thanks but no thanks'.

There is no HR - its the FC that has changed.

Eh? I'm sure something is missing in your delivery somewhere.

No I have sent them a really downbeat and negative letter saying how well I have enjoyed working in the industry over the years and how I enjoy the contact at all levels internally end externally and how have dealt with the managing directors, auditors etc. How I enjoy having KPI's to meet and deadlines to reach. That I keep team sprirts up and have been a mentor.

Hopefully that will come across as negative as you all think I am.

I'm sure your latest posts are sarcastic, so I'm hoping you've got a better way of communicating this one to your potential employer too!
