Job advertised again.....would you apply?

I had a job interview for a role locally in September 2010 and didn't get the job but I now see it's available again.
Would you apply again? What chances would you think there were in getting another interview with the same company?

How close did you come to getting the job last time, and did their feedback give you a vibe that they hated you?

If you have the experience and still want the job then go for it!

I'd apply again, what have you got to lose? You did well in getting an interview the first time around :)

I just noticed a job I was let go from a year ago is being advertised again.. Made me chuckle. The woman who owned the company was a real piece of work.. Guess I'm not the only one to think so! Ha.

Not hated. Maybe the new role was not as big as my last job. Well I know it was half the volume.

The feedback was and I quote

'It was not that you weren't suitable for the job, it was the job that wasn't suitable for you. We will keep you on file incase the situation changes'

So not sure what that means but I have 20 years experience in the same industry as they are in. My old company where even
    customers of this company.

This was a new role. One person doing the job and the job was to be split into two creating a new role.

I was the first one they saw last time and got the interview within 2 hours of applying! They had something like 60 people apply (not a lot a know but the job is hardish to get to as only on bus route, not tube). Nothing to lose I guess but they may laugh knowing I have not got a job yet! :(

I'd still apply again. If they didn't think you fitted the role last time but the person who did left in ~18months then its possible that their ideas about who 'fits' may have changed.

The worst thing they can do is ignore you or reply saying "no".

    Ok, done it.

Sent my references this time which I never had last time (if that matters or not) and will probably drop them an email on Tuesday to say I am still keen in working for the company and hope they can consider me again.

Sorry to sound horrible but personally NO I would not apply. But that's just me. I reckon they had a template of the person they wanted and no disrespect but it was not you. You are on their file so it is up to them to contact you not the other way round.

The job wasn't suitable for me as it was half the volume of the workload I was used to at my old job. The 'situation' was the other person doing the other half of the job as they thought (told me at the interview) that they may be leaving and they had the bigger portion of the job.

The person they picked seems to be a job hopper after only staying 18 mths.

As far as the 'file' goes I am guessing they would just think I have a job by now. You of course are entitled to your opinion.

There is nothing on the advert to say if you are on file do not apply or if you have applied before etc.

It may not even be the same people interviewing as last time, you have nothing to lose - best of luck :)
