    Morning all,
hugs to Mr & Mrs 3Dogs I hope you both have a better day today and that you both slept well xxx
Thats so good to hear & fits in with what they were telling us at Dogs Trust & what Ive read up on last night. They seem like the ideal breed for us, I think I may have fallen a tad in love with it & am trying not to let my heart rule my head but other than the cons of having any dog, I can think of a reason why he wouldnt fit in. He is adorable & we went back with the kids last night to see him & they love him too:T I now need to find lots of Dog related glitches as we have nothing for pets.

Thanks for your help yesterday re the puppies, had I not fallen in love with the Lurcher I suspect I would have been paying you a visit!! I once had a Lab/German shep X & he was the most beautiful dog, very loyal & intelligent & soooo cute!

Pets at home do a good small greyhound collar, my Ruby's is over a year old and looks like new.
Is the wee guy a greyhound or whippet cross? ( Is he big or small?)
My girl is a greyhound/deerhound parented lurcher, her brother looks like a greyhound and her sister looks more like an Irish wolfhound puppy, no one believes they are litter mates

I am looking at putting the adut dogs in kennels in august as we want to go away, does anyone know what an average fee would be per dog for a week?? The local kennels want £300 perdog per week:eek: Im hoping thats not normal!

Bensonmum - Thank you so much for that, this did include food but even so! I am not sure what size labs are classed as ... maybe large?? I will keep looking around.

hi...a lab will probably be classed as large....I'm in the Midlands and our Staffy is classed as a large dog when we put him in kennels....its £9 per day...but obviously overnight is classed as 2 days...and they supply all food :)
hoping for a very MSE Ts glitching 2012!

    Mornin' all (only just)
Just about to go off to lunch break and its taken me 3 days to catch up on the thread.
Got introduced to a good website this week.
    Its free to register
    www.myfitnesspal.com
Its a little scary as i can only have 1200 calories a day in order to lose 0.5lbs a week.
On Monday I ate 1800 calories (mostly in fruit and veg)
Now the same food on Weight watchers was 21 of my 26 daily allowance
I have now lost confidence in Weight Watchers pro Points
    The end is nigh

Thanks guys for all the lovely messages - 11+ at it's finest :D:D I haven't caught up yet, just caught a few posts last night and a few when checking this page to post

I did read some messages last night as I was up till about 3.30. I did not reply then as I was in tears reading them too, and Alan was not able to settle and was groaning in pain in bed. I did give him an extra spoon of Oramorph at 3am and he settled a little, enough to get some sort of sleep, but when I went to bed, I just couldn't sleep and just lay watching him struggle and make 'funny noises' in his sleep. At one point he said 'hoi, what you doin'?, stop singing' and was confused when I said it was him making the noises ;)

Anyway, I got to sleep about 6am when Alan had settled a little more, and the alarm went off at 8  Alan's pain had eased and he got up to go the the toilet and, as usual these days, came back in agony after moving around. He said the pain was worse than that he had when they'd had to take him into the hospital. I gave him his meds including the higher strength morphine tablet and oramorph, though he wanted to go back to what he'd been on before i.e. 2 paracetamol & 2 codeine 4 times daily as "the pain wasn't as bad as this when he was taking them'. I explained that he did have the pain as that's why he'd had to go on stronger meds and that we have to find the correct level of slow-release morphine, starting on the lowest and working up, so we will get there

He had a little breakfast and went back to bed, and I went in half an hour later to get dressed and he was much more settled and going to sleep. I have rung the surgery and confirmed that they are not affected by todays doctor's strike and he is on our GP's call list for today

Last night was actually the first time I have really been in tears since we heard the news, so was well overdue and necessary, I know that. I just felt so helpless I used the wrong word last night of useless and I like to be in control ;) It has been building up, with me getting annoyed at silly things when out, and a feeling of 'doom' over me' but I am more positive and in control again - where I like to be :D

I really do have to check who I can call for advice, especially at night or weekends, as this is when you need it most

As suggested by Spoony on my diary, I should ask the GP to ring on my mobile number and then I won't miss any of his calls. Yesterday I missed 2 calls from friends just because it took me so long to get to the phone from the bathroom or bedroom, but I have charged up my new triple phone thanks again Nine Tails and can have a phone in the bedroom and hall so no excuse to miss calls ;)

I am just going to get some housework done   Not like me at all, I knoww, but trying still to declutter the house so it is nicer for Alan, and me of course :rotfl: Keep busy busy busy ;)

BTW, I did notice ToNik asking about kennels fees - a subject I am expert on ;) Our kennels charge £8 for one dog, £13 for 2, and £14 for 3 based on them sharing same run. I supply their own food to ensure they are on their usual diet but you add £1 a day to each rate if you don't take food in, to cover cost of food - does that make sense?
